cptdes 6
Just wondering if there was anything on the cards for YSRI Richmond in the future. I posted this enquiry in OzX also and drew a blank.
gregone 0
Would be great if they did a collection of RAAF Bases in Australia but when I raised this question a long while back I got areply from John that it was to hard to get pictures of the Bases for secuirty reasons. And mabye also not a big market either. But I hope that maybe some Freeware designers will give these bases a go. After all there is some great ones for FS9 but they were never converted over to FSX. Cheers Greg
CathyH 35
I think there is a freeware Tindal, maybe some others
gregone 0
You are right there Cathy, Tindal and Darwin are both very well done by Ants but there should be a few more bases. Cheers Greg
Dexter Dog 0
There is also a very nice base (I think Mark Lee did this one?) at Scherger YBSG (up at Weipa) that makes for a nice round trip in something fast between Darwin and Tindal!
John Venema 9,314
We had an internal project for YSRI at one stage, but it's on the back-burner for now as Rob focuses on completing YBMC.

flyhalf 2
You wouldn't believe I walked around the entire base today (for my work), every hangar, all up the apron, even sat in a C130H left seat. Could not take photos though as I was escorted all day. I was thinking - man if I only had my SLR and clearance I would have photographed the whole thing. That was a once in a lifetime day today. James Ham 0
I know this is a bit of an old post, but fellas, i know personally, id pay good money for versions of Pearce, Richmond, East Sale, Williamtown and Amberley if you were to ever do them... Especially just off the screen shot there of Richmond, i really think you should release a version
gibo 25
JV might have meant "Afterburner" an not "Backburner". Wishfull thinking. Cheers, Norm
COBS 70
Regards Amberley ( YAMB ) , this is a work in progress , see attached link: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/8767-raaf-amberley-modification/ With P3D now involved , I think that a more balanced view of security will prevail , LM know only too well that what security applies to what is within the confines of buildings , and aircraft ,the external views are all readily available on google earth and magazines and videos. Since LM's P3D is a military simulator it is reasonable to presume that we will be getting good detail military air base scenery in the future. Cheers Karol
Matt_B_1978 16
Hey Matt Mate i spent nearly 4 years at Richmond with the C130s and VIP fleet (when they were there). I served with 486 Sqn so yes i remember the base fondly. Cheers Forgot to add that it was back in the 80s I have an Uncle who served there as an Officer, his job involved working with the communications equipment that allowed communications between aircraft and the ground. I think he was a Squadron Leader or Wing Commander at the time you were there, although he was not a pilot. I realise it's a big base, but do you remember an Officer by the surname of Bournes? I also heard of a colleague of his whose nickname was Adolf. Ring any bells, Dags?
