Popular Post Orbx 1,097
Announcing our next exciting Landmark City Pack - Brisbane! Our next destination for the Landmarks takes us back to Australia with Brisbane, the most populated city and capital of the state of Queensland. The city was founded upon the traditional lands of the Jagera and Turrbal people on the banks of the Brisbane River which took it's name from Sir Thomas Brisbane, the governor of New South Wales at the time. With its laid-back charm, Brisbane is a cosmopolitan hub for arts, culture and a subtropical alfresco lifestyle. The city sees clear blue skies all year round and is a popular tourist destination offering many landmarks and attractions. Our TrueEarth team, led by respected flight sim developer, Holger Sandmann, have recreated this global city with carefully selected POIs, custom orthos and terraforming refinements to capture the feel and vibes of the city. We have maintained balance and performance with our carefully selected 125 POIs, which include the Story Bridge, Eagle Street Pier and many of the hotels and apartments along the riverbank and CBD. Our hero assets allow you to get up close and personal and we have included the recently completed Brisbane Skytower (the city's tallest building), Suncorp Stadium and the Gabba for the all the fans of rugby league, AFL and the cricket. Key Features 4 high-detail custom landmarks: Brisbane Skytower, The Gabba and Suncorp Stadiums, Riverside Expressway bridge system 125 medium-detail custom landmarks, providing a comprehensive Brisbane skyline while balancing quality and performance Extensive terraforming across the coverage area, enhancing how our custom landmarks sit within the simulator’s terrain Enhancements to the Brisbane River between downtown and the estuary: marinas, moored boats, CityCat ferries, New Farm Riverwalk, etc. Detailed representation of the Port of Brisbane (Fisherman Island) and adjacent tank farms and industrial areas Custom orthoimagery with partially exposed tidal sandbars and wetlands east of YBBN and south of Fisherman Island Custom night lighting based on real-world photography Perfectly matched with our upcoming YBBN Brisbane Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Landmarks Brisbane City has just commenced beta testing and we expect to see its release later this month. So in the meantime, enjoy these previews! 19 1

paulk 370
I've never been to Brisbane but I will be buying a copy of it asap. I love these City Packs as much as the Airport add-ons, they look so real in MSFS 2020. Since we can't travel anywhere at the moment these City Packs are a great escape. Now who do I need to speak to at Orbx to request a Vancouver City Pack, would be good to whiz around with my float plane.

Tonyla1 3
Fantastic!!! I can't wait to buy this being by current home town. I have a general question for the developers, I understand that this cityscape will be a representation of Brisbane at a certain point in time. I can see in one of the pictures the Roma Street Transit Center and attached Hotel Jen, however as at today's date, this entire block has been demolished to make way for new buildings as part of the cross river rail project. Also, the Queens Wharf project (the biggest thing to hit Brisbane in decades) is now in the early stages of construction. Are these things likely to be in the final release, or could they be considered in future updates? Cheers Tony
Ed Correia 4,253
We have depicted the Queens Wharf project as a construction site with the plan of adding in high quality POIs once it is completed in a update down the track. We have decided to leave the Roma Street Transit Center demolished area in for now but will add in the Roma St station which is still being modelled.

gleff 0
What would be really nice is to do up Archerfield Airport. The control tower is non existent and would be awesome if this could be done at some point. BTW. I'll be getting the YBBN and the city pack as soon as they are released as well. Withers88 2
Wondering if they've done the night lighting for convention centre/goma/william jolly/victoria/gateways. Haven't seen night shots or those yet but I feel like I've been waiting a lifetime for a good Brisbane scenery in a flight sim. Looks magic so far.
rf253 3
Sorry if this sounds negative but it is all good news it seems for MSFS 2020 but nothing has happening with P3Dv5 payware YBBN which was published back in August last year with an update for YBBN and YBSU to bring in to line with AUSv2 with new runway and taxi etc and if memory serves me correctly there was a free download of the payware version at that time for 48hrs only which was updated, however those of us that already owned the payware version could not download that version DOH we already owned it. But an update would be released soon. To date I have not seen any update of that let alone see the new parallel runway or taxiways at YBBN. It would be nice for us paying customers to see some support and get looked after. Now I will get off the soap box Edited February 17 by rf253
Nick Cooper 6,916
Hello, a new version of the payware YBBN is in progress. Nothing has been released and at no point was there any kind of 48 hour offer. Graham did update both airport versions in Australia version 2 and those are available to all who own Australia version2. Of course, if you have added the payware version of YBBN, you will not see the Australia version 2 model.

jasonr71 18
Another fine job on this second Australian City DLC. Even though the default Gold Coast looks great, I would love to see Orbx produce a GOLD COAST (Surfers Paradise) DLC with fully rendered Hotels and Apartments, as well as theme parks. Better still, can you guys do a 3D model of my house, car and garden shed!
rf253 3
Hi Nick thanks for the reply however I clearly recall what transpired at that time with all the hullabaloo of getting payware airports to merge properly with the then new AUSv2 being released. Graham released a plethora of files so various payware airports would work with it at that time also. I own both AUSv2 and YBBN not to meniton numerous others and at that time a post was presented for a limited time to get the payware YBBN (maybe it was a beta, I have no idea) but was YBBN and had the new runway on it as at that time the runway went into operation. I know I tried several times to download it but got the same response every time 'I already owned the YBBN' payware version. Also at the time those that downloaded it were seeing the new runway but quite a lot did not and this was during a VATSIM event to celebrate the opening of the runway if I recollect correctly. The other thread asking about the upgrade or completely redesigned version was closed from any further comments by Ed Corriea on 17 Dec advising the new version YBBN v2 would be released in Jan this year. Edited February 17 by rf253
Nick Cooper 6,916
Hello, Graham did release numerous amendments but not one of them added the second runway to the payware version of YBBN. As I mentioned, later on, he did release an updated version of the Australia v2 version that does include the new runway. At the time, there were a few topics from customers who could not make this work and it was because they were also using the payware version that was not updated.
