Wouldn't it be great if MSFS could replicate lenticular clouds like these!

They were taken by an Air NZ pilot while flying from Christchurch to Invercargill recently at an altitude of 18,000ft.

The stunning clouds formed just south of Dunedin as a result of a very strong westerly airstream.

Lenticular clouds are common here in Canterbury as the wind / wave comes over the Southern Alps - not usually quite like this though - certainly is an unusual and spectacular formation.

MSFS has far bigger issues with its clouds than worrying right now about lenticular clouds.

They can start with..incorrect colouring of cloud tops, incorrect colouring CB’s, poor rendering of CU clouds, poor performance with regions of multi layered and vertical formations.

Hopefully they can fix basic issues then go on to more advanced issues.
