active True Earth Southern California - will there be a P3D version?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I'm just contemplating purchasing the Orbx California regions (southern), but noticed that there are True Earth editions for both southern and northern California for X-Plane - will Orbx be releasing these for P3D any time soon, or should I take the plunge and buy the existing regional scenery instead?

If you could advise that would be great - I don't want to buy this if it's about to be superseded by something more up to date and detailed.

Kind regards,

I am pretty confident the P3D version will be as identical as it is possible to be between the two sims.  It's possible some POIs may differ dependiong on how the tech works but really they will be essentially identical.

Now, X Plane 11 struggles a little bit in the Los Angeles basin , not badly but it is noticeable.  Given that X Plane is noticeable smoother than P3D in most circumstances, I suspect the X Plane version will be more enjoyable to fly around in.

But these are suspicions...not based on any inside knowledge!!!

Thanks John - so I take it from your answer that there will be True Earth Southern and Northern California versions released for P3Dv4/5? If that is the case it would not make sense to buy the region scenery that is currently available.

Funnily enough the Los Angeles area was the main POI for me so it will be interesting to see how that is covered, and how well it blends with the FSDT LAX scenery.
