After all that shaking the day before...

... our plans for the next day at Fraser Island were smoother. Leaving Kingfisher Resort...

... with a tour where the name says what´s the intention.

Heading north along the island´s beautiful coast and beaches ...

... to Platypus Bay where real life (and the map) indicate a high probability of encounters.

Unfortunately in p3d they are placed somewhere else, much closer to Hervey Bay itself. At first we spotted some curious dolphins...

... and shortly after several families of humpbacks.

Doing excercises? Or playing with the tourists?

Fantastic hours came to an end, and I shortcut with the Cessna...

... right into Hervey Bay. No doubt a tour like this is not the worst activity to invest a day for.

What an amazing stuff Gerold

So cool :) I have also taken shots of the whales, and in Milford Sound

Thanks for sharing

Thank you for the kind - and interesting words, Carlos. I did not know that whales travel to one of the most beautiful orbx sounds as well. In case we ever travel there, we´ll make sure to meet the right season - I learned from you!

Astonishing Gerold.  You have to be the most travelled person I have ever seen.  Some really nice screen and photos here!

Oh Jack, we are still posting from just one holiday. But a big one it was. As well as the cameras I was taking with me all around the globe. And for these shots it was worth it!

The best part of your trip yet Gerold.

The whales are much more co-operative in Queensland than in ALaska, I never had any views like this!

Thank you Martyn. I value your experts opinion. Maybe the warmer waters in QLD make the whales more camera-friendly? Or is it the general friendlyness of the Aussies? However, my family was totally overwhelmed, a fantastic experience.

Also great to see these details in our NatureFlow.
