bvdboomen 1,385
Thanks for posting. It's a shame the Catalina is no longer in the Netherlands. I will mis her.

Jack Sawyer 40,210
That was awesome! What I wouldn't give to travel the world in one of these, you could land anywhere.
Ken Q 197
Nice film. Thank you! According to a letter by David Jacobson in the current issue of Air & Space Magazine, this plane is the last surviving Catalina to actually do combat service in WW2. According to Mr. Jacobson this plane sank three U Boats during the war. The plane has been purchased by the Collings Foundation, and is bound to the USA. Collings Foundation planes tour the country for airshows and commemorative events and usually offer rides (for a price). Sorry, but the Netherlands' loss is America's gain. Wishing PH-PBY and her crew a safe journey! Ken 1
Paul K 109
Very sorry to see this aircraft depart Europe. I remember her at Duxford, performing displays with the Plane Sailing Catalina. It was wonderful to see two in the air together.
Stillwater 13,328
Great views here. It is always sad to see these old beauties disappear - not to mention their history.
