active EGHR Goodwood - Unable to download

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just purchased Goodwood but I think it seems to be a problem currently? I get an 'RTM A' indication and when I click 'Install Product', the download is automatically Paused and can't be unpaused.

Both download links should now be working, at least they are here.

Thanks for the quick reply Nick. Unfortunately the cross-platform link still doesn't work. Can't try via FTX Central since I am running Linux.

Anyway, still getting the 404 here...

The manual download option through the orbx website, is also showing a 404 error.

Hello,

I have asked why this might be.

EDIT: I have already had a reply, there is a problem with the CDN service provider and

it is being investigated now.

Hi all,

We believe the download problems are related to an issue with our CDN provider's Frankfurt PoP.

Could those who were experiencing issues please re-attempt the download now?

If you are still experiencing an error when attempting the download, can you please run the following command in command prompt and send the results via email to ben@orbxsystems.com:

# Windows
tracert maxcdnpushtest.owwochgjiuskn0.maxcdn-edge.com

# macOS
traceroute maxcdnpushtest.owwochgjiuskn0.maxcdn-edge.com

The results of this test will allow us to further diagnose the issue.

Same here, updating the Orbx Library worked, only getting a paused for Goodwood.

Well the site is ok, must be a problem with the Goodwood Scenery.

Think we are in the hands of Orbx with this one???

The problem is only with the Goodwood scenery. I bought two P3D Orbx sceneries and they downloaded fine through FTX Central.

Can we have an estimate of when this will be fixed? Its a day after purchase and I still can't use the product.

I also can't download EGHR für XP. Deleted the Orbx folder in C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp and restarted my modem and router.

Hello,

the problem is not under the control of Orbx, it is with the delivery system.

I don't know much about these things but it seems that depending on the route

that these files take to the PC, they are getting though to some and not others.

Here is my result

and I am receiving the files.

We can do no more than ask you to be patient and hope that the fault is fixed soon.

@Nick Cooper I am also not an expert on this, but how it is possible that all other ORBX downloads, download fine and its only EGHR that doesn't? Don't all ORBX downloads follow the same servers path?

If you have a VPN client you might consider using that as a workaround.

IE log into your VPN and try downloading from a different location.

Worth a try?

Thank you very much, g0emf, that was the solution for me. After having tried to download Chichester without any success several times, now I have tried it using the Tor-Browser. The first try wasn't successful, but with the second try I could download the CrossPlatform-file of Chichester without any problem. It seems to depend on the kind of connection, that the Tor-Browser builds up.

There have been several reports of FTX Central pausing and this

might also be because of the same problem.

As I am not an expert, I will not attempt an explanation, nor will

I make any assumptions about how things work.

Many thanks! It really works with the TOR Browser.

You can also use any VPN browser plugin, such as "Hola". Might be faster than using TOR.

Thank you @AviatingDude. I used Hola and I was able to download through orbx website.

But the original problem still remains. Your provider has obviously a misconfigured system!

Please could you fix this and put this file at a place where the download works like all other downloads? I'm not willing to install a new browser because I should download one file.

Just install firefox or chrome, its no big deal.

Neither one worked for the ones of us which are/were affected, tried both (and the default Windows Internet Explorer). But the Tor Browser worked for me and others.

FWIW Just tried to verify my Goodwood install and this time I wasn't stuck at pausing so it seems it got fixed.
