Pleased to say that turnout at Remembrance Day ceremonies here in Canada has increased significantly over the last decade plus. Schools take good efforts to make their ceremonies meaningful and educational to the students and that has helped in making it what it now is. I hope that it continues on.

Iain, I think I got some dust in my eyes, excuse me.  Better now, thank you very much for this, it's beautiful and touching.

Great shots, great sentiment.  It’s a big (and growing) day here in Australia, along with ANZAC (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps) day on 25 April.  Cheers.

Well said and beautifully put. Today I remember my grandfather who got through WW1, all 4 years, my grandfather in law who was a POW in Germany for 5 years and my old pal Don, 101st Airborne recently passed.

We will never forget.

John.

Very good to see such a thoughtful post and all the comments here. Remembering the mistakes of the past should be more widespread, especially nowadays.

Excellent post and appropriate sentiments.

What we now need is for someone to list all the things our human species has learned from these seemingly endless sacrifices.

And, more importantly, what has actually changed in order to prevent more from being required in the future.

Should be a very brief post.

Excellent post. I think the politics of the day make it even more important to remember.
