A change in the weather

Recommended Posts

Yet another livery for the Carvair, many thanks Jeansy for this.

Well it is very foggy at YPMQ.

However the coast is clear at Coffs Harbour which is the destination of this short flight.

I hope they are right with the weather.

Off into the murk.

Breaking into some clearer weather at 5500ft.

As predicted by the weather man Smoky Cape, near Kempsey , would be clear.

The Macleay River at South West Rocks.

Stuarts Point.

Macksville and the Nambucca River.

Starting to descend into Coff's.

Crossing the coast at Bungaden with the Bellinga River at Uranga

Another pretty good landing for me.

Some views of Coff's Harbour Airport.

I hope you enjoyed the flight.

What plane is that? That is not an appealing plane.

This is the Aviation Traders Limited ATL-98 Carvair. An ingenious solution to carrying cars more efficiently across the English Channel in the 60s.

I was used to seeing these wonderful planes in the early 70s and were a common sight doing freight work in and out of Bournemouth.:D

Great livery, absolutely. And this fog is another highlight, rarely seen here in the past!

You can see the fog but not much else.

A livery I was unaware of until today but it does look great.:)

Those are some big honking lights Martyn, what's up with that. :D  Excellent shots, but I gotta laugh everytime I see that plane, sorry. :D

They need big lights in that pert of NSW as the moths are ginormous!:o:ph34r::)

Well I am glad Big Head makes you laugh as he would hate to make you cry.:D

Great shots of the old Carvair, Martyn.  Wouldn't it be nice to see a new rendition of the Bristol Freighter too ?

Thanks for your response Kevin.

I agree with you a Bristol Freighter would be great to have.

Lets keep our fingers crossed!:D

wow looks like you had a super flight and the clouds where a bit dense in places Martyn and thanks for letting me come along for the ride regards stewart

Cheers Stewart, I had to cheat with the clouds half way through the flight as I wanted to see the scenery as well as finding the airport.:D
