  4. On my last flights in the "ORBX-country" a few pictures were taken. I would like to share with you On this flight I started from London City Airport in TrueEarth GB to a small sightseeing flight. Flown with the AVRO Tutor (Freeware by Nigel Richards). Many thanks to @Doc Scott for his great tip! The next flight took place with the Commander 114 in Switzerland. More precisely, near Interlaken. As you can see it was very foggy, it was flown with real weather ... Small aircraft has its charm, no question. But a large aircraft, like the Airbus A318, is a bigger challenge The picture shows the final phase of the landing approach in LOWI Innsbruck on runway 26 ... Innsbruck. Always worth a trip!
  5. I was very excited when I discovered that ORBX had made maps of central UK. A bit sceptical that my late 2015 iMac would be happy, but installed anyway and... My favourite current route is shuttling between North Weald (EGSX) in Essex (where I have an hour's flight booked next month) and Rochester (EGTO) (near where I live). Here's the view of the Medway bridge just after takeoff: Heading towards Gravesend over the A2, the QE2 Bridge in the background: Then Gravesend itself, with my local Shell garage: And inexplicably, the Gurdwara has turned into a cathedral: Still, there's the ferry and (some of the) wind turbines... ...although when I got to the bridge, something very odd was happening to the traffic: A nice view of the City: and finals to 02 at North Weald: I'm going to have to do something about those motorway signs. Oh, and here's the settings that work. For some of those screenshots I had RW objects on max, but it can get a bit juddery when I do that.
  6. These QUICK LOOK videos are very short videos made using P3D4 flight simulator. This one looks at TrueEarth Netherlands HD by ORBX Simulation Systems.

  8. Earlier this year, we announced that we would be developing TrueEarth Great Britain for X-Plane 11. Our X-Plane team headed up by specialist Tony Wroblewski has been working tirelessly to bring you the first title in the series, TrueEarth Great Britain South. TrueEarth Great Britain for X-Plane is series of three with GB Central and GB North to follow in the coming months. We always intended to release TrueEarth Great Britain as three separate regions, just like we did for the original UK FTX Regions. However, we cannot release them based on geographical boundaries as with did for the FTX regions, because the only correct way to distribute mesh based sceneries for X-Plane is using 1-degree tiles. For this reason we have split GB into South, Central and North as you can see in the map. We will also split TrueEarth GB for P3Dv4 and AFS2 in the same way to keep the product line consistent between simulators. GB South covers a whopping 42,000 square miles (107,349 km2) and covers Southern England and Wales. We have developed new autogen technology especially for X-Plane which allows for region specific houses to be placed accurately to ensure maximum immersion. What really makes TrueEarth Great Britain unique, are the Points of Interest. We have hundreds of iconic UK landmarks from Tintagel to Cardiff City Stadium, from the Brighton Pier up to Buckingham Palace in London – all based on 2018 data - You won’t find a more comprehensive and up-to-date British flying experience anywhere! Features: 42,000 square miles (107349 km2) of hand corrected, crisp, color-matched aerial imagery New autogen technology developed specially for X-Plane 11, allowing thousands of realistic looking UK-themed houses to be placed at a realistic height with minimal impact on performance 130 million trees at the correct height and location 13.2 million buildings at the correct height and location VFR landmarks such as masts, windfarms, churches, power-lines, and lighthouses are all accurately placed. Hundreds of custom-modelled 3D POIs Hand-placed and custom modelled landmarks placed throughout the scenery such as bridges, skyscrapers, castles, piers, and monuments – this is especially noticeable in city areas such as London and along the coast. Sharp and detailed 10-meter mesh brings out stunning detail in natural features such as hills and beaches Superb watermasking along the entire coastline Accurate road and rail network blended into the aerial imagery with moving left-hand drive traffic. Control Panel option to use photoreal major roads/motorways or synthetic X-Plane ones. Summer season only with full night-lighting supported We have also added a new built-in decompression feature in FTX Central to greatly reduce the download size (approx 35GB instead of 90GB) ensuring an efficient installation process. In addition to these features, users will get free service packs for life as well as more POI models in future updates. TrueEarth GB South will be available to purchase from OrbxDirect this month for AUD $54.95 (approx. USD $39.55 / €33.95 / £30.60) Please note that there is no cross-grade discount from the landclass-based FTX England, Wales or Scotland regions. Here are three shots taken by Jarrad Marshall Using ReShade 0.19.1 / SweetFX Here are nearly 90 screenshots taken by Filou on the following system: i7 4790K / GTX 1080 / 24 MEMORY/ SSD Shaders: ReShade 0.19.1 / SweetFX / MaxxFX Weather: Ultra Weather XP / xEnviro v1.09 A few more things to mention: These screenshots are from the Beta2 build. We’ll be sharing many more shots from Beta3 in the coming days which has even more 3D POI models, texturing and further improvements All of the Orbx FTX England and Wales airports are in the process of being ported to XP11 right now, and EGHI Southampton, EGFF Cardiff and EGKA Shoreham will be released very soon after TrueEarth GB South is out - we will demo those at Cosford. All the Orbx UK airports will be available for XP11 before the end of the year. The P3Dv4 version of TrueEarth GB South is about 60% complete and we’re aiming for release by the end of the year. After Great Britain, we begin development of TrueEarth regions in the USA from early 2019, beginning with Pacific Northwest!
  9. Calling all AFS2 simmers! TrueEarth technology is finally landing on IPACS Aerofly FS2 starting with The Netherlands! For those not yet to experience high-fidelity scenery in Aerofly FS2, expect to find extremely dense building & vegetation cultivation, incredible crisp terrain textures, and effortlessly smooth performance. Flying over the Netherlands is a joy - TrueEarth Netherlands contains the entirety of the country complete with cities, towns, and countryside all where they should be. The Netherlands, often referred to as Holland, is a country located in Western Europe. The five largest cities in the Netherlands are Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht (forming the Randstad megalopolis) and Eindhoven (leading the Brabantse Stedenrij). The Port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and the world's largest outside Asia. Netherlands literally means "lower countries" - the name came from the country's low land and flat geography, with only about 50% of its land exceeding 1 meter (3 ft 3 in) above sea level. Since the late 16th century, about 17% of the country's current landmass has been reclaimed from the sea! What is TrueEarth? TrueEarth is a game-changing product for Orbx - for the first time we are combining the full suite of features from our FTX regions with a completely photoreal terrain base - a feature previously limited to our airports. TrueEarth Netherlands is far more than a traditional photoreal product, it features comprehensive (and complete) building and vegetation placements, thousands of hand-placed landmarks and POI, and hand-edited textures. Features: The entirety of Netherlands depicted in complete detail! 85,000km2 of photoreal terrain at 1m resolution Full 3D night lighting 43 airports CityScene building technology for all major cities, towns, villages and urban areas. CityScene tech improves on traditional cultivation by adding unusual footprints, higher detail (roof details etc) and better long-range visibility Incredibly dense vegetation cultivation. Far superior to automated OSM technology, our cultivation is compiled from multiple data sets, and hand-edited to ensure maximum fidelity, accuracy and density. Beautifully edited terrain textures - colourised, edited, cleaned up. Blemishes such as cloud cover, water sun glare, seamlines, discolouration and some vehicle footprints have been removed Ultra HD mesh at 5m resolution. Netherlands may be flat, but incredible details such as tailings dumps, sand dunes and even highway overpass ramps are visible Accurate road, waterways, transmission line and other vector/GIS components. Beautiful custom building textures for all autogen buildings Hundreds of custom landmarks and POI Traditional Dutch windmills Major churches and cathedrals custom modelled Custom models for all major TV and radio masts Many major bridges custom designed Custom ship models unique to Netherlands Thousands of hand-placed animated wind turbines, refineries, harbours and other library objects Hand-edited and colourised water textures, including complete watermasking TrueEarth Netherlands will launch for AUD$54.95 (approx. USD $42 / £30 / €34 ) - 40% OFF if you’ve already purchased it for P3D! Here are a few screenshots from Emmsie. Don't forget to stay tuned here and on our Facebook and Twitter pages for plenty more news!
  10. G'day All, Whilst John has been mercilessly teasing you all with early alpha shots, the team are very proud to officially present the first of our next generation of region products; TrueEarth Netherlands! This is a game-changing product for the team; for the first time we are combining the full suite of features from our FTX Region sceneries, with a completely photoreal terrain base, a feature previously limited to our airports. It is important to understand that Netherlands TrueEarth is far more than a traditional photoreal product; comprehensive (and complete) building and vegetation placements, thousands of hand-placed landmarks and POI, complete seasonal and night variations, integrated GIS components and hand-edited textures only scratch the surface of the complete feature list. Ground-breaking technology has gone into bringing you the most detailed and accurate terrain product ever seen in a flight sim to date; we are very excited at what this product represents. ORBX TrueEarth TrueEarth is the name that we will be giving to our new line of photoreal region products. An ORBX TrueEarth scenery will combine the best features found in existing Region products, with the added benefit of full photoreal terrain. Many of the components found in TrueEarth packages are a natural evolution from our existing lines; for example we are leveraging CityScene technology found in CityScene Gold Coast, expert GIS technology found in our latest Regions, advanced night lighting from ORBX Global Base and openLC, propitiatory autogen techniques previously seen at Innsbruck, Berlin (GEN) and Munich (GES), and many more. TrueEarth regions will also sit alongside landclass-based regions; both types of Regions will be continued to be developed into the future. As John has already mentioned in other discussions, several other TrueEarth titles are currently in production for locations in Europe and the United States. TrueEarth pricing will mirror our existing regions; Netherland will be released for AUD$54.95 (~USD$42 / £30 / €34 ) TrueEarth Netherlands As our first TrueEarth photoreal region, Eugene and the team have pulled out all the stops to bring the best product possible. Rather than describe all the details (there are just too many!), please find a partial feature list below: The entirety of Netherlands depicted in complete detail! 85,000km2 of photoreal terrain at 1m resolution (nb the same resolution as traditional landclass textures) Complete seasonal variation: 5 hand-coloured seasons! Full 3D night lighting and night ground textures 43 updated airports, including 18 not found in the default scenery. CityScene building technology for all major cities, towns, villages and urban areas. CityScene tech improves on traditional autogen by adding unusual footprints, higher detail (roof details etc) and better long-range visibility Incredibly dense autogen vegetation. Far superior to automated OSM technology, our agn is compiled from multiple data sets, and hand-edited to ensure maximum fidelity, accuracy and density. Beautifully edited terrain textures - colourised, edited, cleaned up. Blemishes such as cloud cover, water sun glare, seamlines, discolouration and some vehicle footprints have been removed. Colour palettes have been edited to match ORBX Global texture sets. Custom-painted rural variations, including tulip fields during spring Ultra HD mesh at 5m resolution. Netherlands may be flat, but incredible details such as tailings dumps, sand dunes and even highway overpass ramps are visible Accurate road, waterway, bridges, transmission line and other vector/GIS components. Road AI traffic also included to regular Region standards Beautiful custom building textures for all autogen buildings Hundreds of custom landmarks and POI Traditional Dutch windmills Major churches and cathederals custom modelled Custom models for all major TV and radio masts Many major bridges custom designed Custom ship models unique to Netherlands Thousands of hand-placed wind turbines, refineries, harbours and other library objects Hand-edited and colourised water textures, including complete watermasking Fully compatible with neighboring regions (GES, GEN), ORBX Global and OpenLC Europe Netherlands will launch for AUD$54.95 (~USD$42 / £30 / €34 ) The TrueEarth Netherlands Team As to be expected from such a huge project, many developers have been working tirelessly to get Netherlands prepared for you all. First and foremost, Netherlands TrueEarth is the brainchild of Eugene Krikunov, the lead developer of many other best-sellers such as Global Base and our Open Landclass series. Holger Sandmann has contributed his considerable GIS expertise to the scenery, in between his long list of other projects. Chris Clack and Neil Hill bring the airports of the Netherlands to life; as our regular "region airports" specialists, their work can be found at each landing zone around the country. Richard Bui, Frank Schnibben and Sylvain Delepierre are the "special detailing" team; the custom landmarks, ships, bridges, radio towers, windmills and thousands of other custom placements are their work. Frank has also designed the custom building autogen texture sets found exclusively within this region. Finally, Allen Kriesman has brought components of his CityScene technology over to the urban and city centres of Netherlands. Iain Emms and John Lovell have been hard at work capturing many facets of the Netherlands, please find a small taste of the screenshots below. As always, we don't give any release dates. The team are working extremely hard in the background; we look forward to sharing more info with you over the coming weeks. Most importantly for you guys, Emmsie and JL will be posting even more shots later in the week... but in the mean time, enjoy! Cheers, Jarrad
  11. A stunning piece of scenery in a beautiful and smooth flight sim. Netherlands TrueEarth (AFS2)...
  12. Some shots I took during a short hop over the Netherlands in AFS2...
  13. Live stream VFR ORBX TrueEarth Netherland NOW on https://www.twitch.tv/fseindhoven
  14. Today I started flying the Netherlands again, but now using the brand-new TrueEarth HD. I installed the package yesterday and followed the instructions for the P3D settings. The first look is amazing. The first flight is from Amsterdam (Schiphol) to Den Helder (De Kooy) following VFR. In general I fly with small planes at a height of about 2500 - 4000 feet. For everyone who is interested or want to have an idea click the next link: http://www.wilveenstra.nl/europe/nederland Of course there will be minor things, but in general I am very satisfied.
  15. Loving the previews of UK TrueEarth. It is great news for the X-plane platform! Just one thing though, with it being photo based what are the plans for night textures? Laminar is introducing "generic" far night tiles due to the draw distance restrictions on scenery. It makes high altitude night flying much more immersive. They are beta at the moment but do look OK. Do you plan to accommodate night flying with similar effects in your TrueEarth regions?
