  1. First flight in my new Bonanza. I've got no GPS, I'm flying the needles and it's mostly IMC on a short hop from Bremerton Natl PWT to Skagit KBVS in the Pacific NW. My routing was a radar vector onto V165 to ISLND, then from there I shot the NDB Ry 11 at KBVS with a circle to land to Ry 4. The whole thing was tricky due to a monster ssw wind (it was lovely aloft - had a ground speed of 202!!)... I had a crosswind for the entirety of the non precision approach. routing by ryan b, on Flickr Untitled-1 by ryan b, on Flickr Untitled-2 by ryan b, on Flickr Even without GPS the aircraft is well-equipped for IFR with dual nav/comm, ADF and DME.
