  1. V5 shows an error that indicates that I have run out of "video Memory". I assume that is the video card memory. So, my question is, what are the most likely adjustments/sliders that can contribute to this error? I already have 3 old video cards setting on a shelf. In today's conditions I can't add a fourth.
  2. I just purchased EU Germany South and EU England. I also have OpenLC Europe, Global Base Pack and Global Vector. Here is the problem, within 10 minutes of starting a flight in Germany South my computer runs out of memory. Reducing my display settings significantly still does no good. I also have Open LC North America, Central Rockies, Northern Rockies, Pacific Fjords, Pacific Northwest, Southern Alaska and Jackson Hole Airport. I can fly in these regions all day with my display settings at ultra High with no memory problems. There must be something about EU Germany South that is not right. Is anyone else having a memory problem with Germany South? Has ORBX looked into this? This is my Flight Sim System and I am flying FSX-SE. I realize that FSX is 32bit and does not use all of my 16GB of memory. i7 8700K CPU @ 4.4 GHz, 16 GB DDR4 3000 memory, Gigabyte Aorus Z370 MB, Asus GTX 960 OC GPU 4GB GDDR5 Memory, MasterAir MA610P CPU cooler, 500GB SSD, 2T HDD, 3 Asus 24" monitors, Saitek X56 Rhino H.O.T.A.S.
  3. Hello, I bought openlc europe to sit on top of ftx global, and I tried to install but got the out of space warning by ftx central. It said I need 23 gb free and my system only has 11gb free. So I deleted lots of stuff and now have 40gb free, so I tried it again but it still says "you only have 11gb free". It's very annoying and seems to be stuck giving out that warning. I restarted the computer but no joy. Please help. Thank you.
  4. Hello I appear to be experiencing a memory leak issue (high VAS usage) using P3D V3 and the FTX Products. I have all of them installed, including the new OpenLC Canada/Alaska. I did a flight last week from LHR to LAX and I noticed the memory peak. I had about 8% VAS remaining. As I got closer to LAX, the VAS reduced back down to, leaving me with 12% remaining. It went back up to having 10% remaining on landing, which was fine. On the flight I did last night, from SFO to LHR, the memory leak appeared again, but this time the VAS did not reduce, resulting in an OOM just before turning onto final. Is there anything I can do to solve this? Just to advise, I was using the PMDG 777, FS Global, FTX Global and Vector, OpenLC Europe and Canada/Alaska, ASN, REX4 + SC and FTX Trees. When I fly to JFK, MCO or MIA, avoiding Canada, I do not suffer from this issue. IT seems to take place when flying over the Hudson Bay. Thanks Matthew
  5. I've been a flight simmer since the days of Bruce Artwick back around 1980, and flew every upgrade of the Microsoft sims. I've been on FSX since it was first published. Now I'm ready to move up. I have a new gaming computer with two hard drives. The smaller is a 250GB SSD drive that I have the OS (Win 7-64 bit) running on. It has 110GB of space remaining. The larger (1 TB) drive is a standard WD disk drive, over half of which is still empty. In the next few days, I intend to purchase & load P3D V3 on the SSD drive. That should use up about 30GB, leaving me maybe 80GB available. If I purchase FTX Global Base, FTX Global Vector, FTX OpenLC NA Alaska/Canada and FTX Open LC Europe, how much space will those things use up? When the rest of Open LC North America becomes available, I'll probably be loading that as well, and I might load an airport or two (and most likely a couple new aircraft), but I doubt I'll go much further than that. I'd really like to get all this on the SSD drive to enhance performance, but I'm concerned that by the time I'm done, I'm going to use up so much in the way of resources that I'll start seeing crashes or other issues across my entire system (which I also am using for professional Photoshop work.) Would it be smarter to just start loading P3D and everything else on the 1 TB drive? Sorry for the questions, but I'm not a technical genius and can't seem to find the answers elsewhere.
  6. Hi all, I am in decison making mode now. I realized recently that my motherboard only reads 12GB of the 36Gb memory that I have installed (I should have read the manual but the motherboard only acccepts up to 4GB DDR3 cards and I bought 6GB DDR3 cards so for some reason the motherboard only recognizes each card as being 2GB). My question is how much Memory is enough? If i spent the effort to get a new motherboard and did get the OS (Win7 64) to recognize the 36GB would it be worth the effort? My FSX performance is pretty good now. Usually good framerate but I am always looking for better (this has been a never endging quest of mine for the last 15 years...) Thanks!
  7. Hi, I installed Vector today and since then I get an out of memory error in prepar3d 1.4. I haven't had an out of memory with p3d 1.4 ever. So what could be the problem? I run PMDG 737 and Aerosoft Amsterdam, Global and Vector en Pilots terrain mesh. Greets Ruben
  8. I downloaded/installed the Lancair IVP a couple days ago. I selected a HD model and, prior to take off, after opening/closing the doors I received an "out of memory" alert and Flight Sim crashed. I shut down the computer, rebooted, selected a SD Lancair, departed the airfield and after about 3 minutes I got the "out of memory" alert again and the program crashed. My display settings are all set on the lower end, and I "fly" primarliy add-ons, most of which are highly detailed and complex, and I have not had any memory problems with them (except after changing among several airplanes and using real weather, GPS and other navigation instruments within the same flight sim period, and then only after 30 minutes or so will I begin seeing glitches in the display). I believe my system specs are available with this post. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks. Reed
