  2. Hi, my transaction ID is 5b6ac5d3edf75. I want to turn off the windscreen effect on the Lancair IV-P. I have unchecked the Winscreen Effects box in the product control panel, but the windows are still dirty. I have also reinstalled the aircraft to no avail. Changing the settings for radio type and flight dynamics do take effect. Any tips greatfully received. Thanks.
  3. My Lancair plane no longer displays the gear on screen. I can still use the G command to lower and pull it up, but its not shown on screen. (see enclosed pic) I use FSX Steam version I have been flying the plane for a few months now. Of course I tried to reinstall it in FTX, but that did not help. When reinstalling it I do however get an install error (see enclosed pic) but hitting the install retry button seems to solve that. Also the rudder position looks a bit strange, but I am not sure how that looked before. So bottom line, I can fly the Lancair, but I don't see the gear any more. If I load other planes they all seem ok. Any suggestions? Transaction ID 5a6bb56206a9e
  4. Hi all - I have recently purchased the Lancair IV.P from Orbx, whilst I am delighted with the flight dynamics I cannot say the same for the cockpit quality, anything other than zoomed right in and I cannot read the instruments, I guess this is anti-aliasing at the root. It's the same for both standard and HD cockpits and all versions of this aircraft. I have tried DX10 Fixer, I have tried changing the AA settings in NVIDIA inspector all result in a less than pleasing experience. Is their anything else I can look at before I give up on this stunning little aircraft. My spec is: Windows 7 (64bit) with SP1 Monitor BenQ running at full 1080p Processor i7 4820K 3.7ghz RAM 12288mb Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce GTX760 with 4030mb memory. Thanks in advance.
  5. A short BC flight from CYPS to CYVR in the one and only, RealAir Lancair Legacy, belonging to the Benton Flying Club. Thank-you, for coming along for the ride. I feel saddened in a certain way that there is no more RealAir, as their aircraft have definitely enriched the sim lives of many. I certainly hope that progress will not stand in the way of us enjoying these aircraft to their fullest in the new 64 bit platforms. Keeping my 'fingers crossed' that the 'sound' issue can be patched over to work in 64 bit. I am sure my sentiments are shared by everyone who has experienced these wonderful aircraft, which truly have enriched the whole Orbx experience. Cheers, MZ
  6. This package (Lancair IV-P) causes a crash in FSX having to do with the Visual C++ Assertions. The only solution I have found is to uninstall the Lancair IV-P (I have reinstalled ALL the C++ libraries). With the Lancair uninstalled, I can run missions and don't get the error. With it installed, FSX crashes. Also, when ending a flight, if the Lancair is flown, FSX crashes. I wanted a refund, but was asked to add a question about it to the forum...so here it is. Transaction ID: 5907c7fab516f •Product: Lancair IV-P •Amount paid: $21.17 AUD •Purchased at: 2017-05-01 23:44:05 •Quantity purchased: 1
  7. Hi, After a change from FSX to FSX-SE I tried to install the Lancair IV-P again, but without success. I permanently get the message window: "Validation failed: Server did not specify content length. Please..." in spite of correct Validation data (Order No., Order Date and Reg. Key). My order No. for this addon is FSS0096136. Any help would be highly appreciated.
  8. I want to take the Lancair 4P to some airshows but the only two airshows I can think of is Sun N Fun in April and Oshkosh in July what are some other good airshows that I could take the Lancair to and could someone do a custom repaint with a Custom N number?
  9. Now that I have a few trips on the Lancair I really have no idea where to take it any advice will be greatly appreciated
  10. Is anyone still doing repaints for the amazing OrbX Lancair 4P?
  11. I have really enjoyed all my new scenery I purchased over the holidays. I would like to buy the Lancair aircraft from Orbx and want to know if that plane will show interior shadows in the cockpit when flying. Since I believe the old default planes did not enable interior shadows as far as I can tell, I want a plane that does and assume that a new plane from Orbx would. I am on FSX steam. Can anyone confirm interior shadows? Thanks. Pete.
  12. Just purchased the Lancair aircraft from FSS. When installing I get this error x\\Fonts\LCD.TTF A decompression error has occurred (#2026) Unknown decompression error Also no control panel application installed. I ignored the install error. Aircraft installs and loads but no control panel application, only control panel within FSX with icon toggles. How do I correct this error? Note - downloaded and installed several times with different browsers - same results. Also tried installing with antivirus off, same result. Please help. Thanks. Rich
  13. I know this plane was released a while ago but in an original review of the software they mentioned an in flight tutorial for the plane. My download (v.130) didn't include one. Does this still exist for FSX:SE? Thanks
  14. I wasn't sure where to post this...I did a search but didn't find an answer. Perhaps I'm just too new to FSX and flying... Is a third party package required to use the GNS430? The manual states: "For the default provided Load Out you will require to purchase and install the following RXP products: • 530XP WAAS • Flight Line N" Do the GPS and gauges work out of the box on the Lancair IV-P? I noticed there is a Friendly Panels GPS Pack. Can that be loaded in, or is it necessary? Thanks in advance for your help.
  15. A very rainy and foggy flight to KEGE in the Lancair. Sorry in advance for so many…
  16. Hi All First off, this is in General because there is no forum specifically for the ORBX aircraft it appears. I'm sure someone will be along to move me to the right place soon enough. Having been hugely impressed with the FTX areas (most of USA/Canada and GB now installed and loving them) I decided to go for the Lancair, you know, as it's on offer and everything So It's a really great plane, thoroughly enjoy flying it, but it seems to have a major flaw. I use plan-g on my second screen, and usually have a pdf with the checklist open alongside. If I change focus to the second screen, it disconnects all inputs to FSX including keyboard, joystick (x-55) and pedals (CH). Before you all start saying "windowed mode" and "fsx doesn't like losing focus", it is in windowed mode and this is how I have been using FSX for many months now. It works absolutely fine with every other aircraft I have, both purchased and stock. It is essentially making the Lancair unusable for me. I am really hoping this is a simple fix or something as I don't want to lose the aircraft, but if it remains so I will probably have to look to try and get my money back as it would appear to me to be a fairly fundamental flaw. Losing control and all, its pretty rough. best
  17. Testing the patch. I don't have the slightest idea where I was flying, just fired up at one of the regional airports around Phoenix and took to the evening skies... Straight v-keys. Cheers Mallard
  18. You'll recognise the top one as being part of the Orbx IV-P package. The lower one is it's hangar mate (more info here: http://www.mcr01.ch/...d=129&Itemid=40 The eagle eyed among you (that's pretty much all of you!) will notice the pinlines over the roof aren't right. This is because if I placed them correctly the pixels bleed across the roof. Try as I might, I couldn't discover a way of overcoming that so I used some artistic license. And so... It's on AVSIM P.S. If anyone knows a way of overcoming the bleeding pixel problem I'd be appreciative.
  19. I bought this addon plane from Aerosoft. Their order number is 37242. For more than a week now, everything was fine (except the GPS sub-menues) with my Lancair version 1.1. I was even able to use nearly all settings at their maximum in FSX. Than I installed the latest patch to version 1.3. and everything went wrong. Since than I've de- and reinstalled FSX and the Lancair version 1.1 as well with and without the patch to version 1.3. Based on information from this forum I solved the visual C error at FSX shut down (yes, I had this problem suddenly too), by deleting the hobbs.gau file. I've no idea though what to do with the missing/black parts issue. hardware is intel I7, 2,4GHz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA Ge Force GTX 250.0 System is Windows 7 professional, 64bit and FSX Gold Edition (with acceleration expansion pack ... all patches included) anti-virus sofware was off during installation
  20. Hi, first of all, thank you, Jared, and everyone else for this wonderful aircraft add-on! Unfortunately I am not very happy with it at the moment, as I have an issue with the Autopilot (AP). I use the Lancair IV-P with the RXP Radios and the Realistic FDX selected in the control panel. On some flights (approx. every second or third flight) the aircraft starts to fly left or right hand circles when selecting a lateral mode (HDG, NAV, APR, REV) on the AP control panel. At that time I had programmed the RXP GNS 530 with a flight plan and the aircraft had been aligned for an easy capture of the Course to the first waypoint. But instead of following the magenta line on the display the aircraft banked into a 20° angle left or right and stayed there until switching off the AP. It doesn't matter if the GPS was in GPS or VLOC mode. There seems to be no way of preventing the aircraft of doing so, except by restarting FSX. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you and best regards, Jan
  21. Hi. I installed the orbx lancair IV-P+ latested patches in my computer, but the orbx control panel does not open, also I don`t see the radio stack, some instruments and switches. Could you please help me with that. I run FSX with packs on windows xp. sincerly Marcos
  22. Thumbs up on the latest patch, 1.3 rendered it even better for me. However, I think I'm seeing a very nervous transponder altitude (FL to be precise) reading while cruising at a fixed FL. I first thought that ASE or something else gives me the altered readings, but the pressure is static and the transponder gives me everything between FL27 to FL56 while I'm cruising at FL80. The numbers go up and down all the time. Not a problem with 1.2 or any pevious patches, only 1.3 seems to trigger that behaviour. I've closed ASE and reverted back to default FSX weather on the 'clear' preset. Same behaviour. As I'm flying not too much above some Alaska mountains, I'd take a guess and say that my 1.3 transponder now reads radar altitude instead of PA.
