  1. A very short flight from KTVL to Chuck Yeager's home airfield.
  2. If I was a rich man ... I'd definitely buy a Turbo Commasnder 690 (After I pay off all my bills of course..)
  3. The breakfast is finished, ... ... so let´s terminate our stay in Tahoe. Climbout & turn westwards, over these fantastic mountains. Sacramento is nice & sunny, but probably does not need a descent mesh... ... the opposite is true in Napa Valley: These coastal hills collect all the fog... ... at least Angwin-Parrett on its little hill becomes visible & landable. A Turbulent place, as you might know. You may imagine Angwin´s location on top of the ridge here? I changed to a VAS-undemanding plane there (I currently fly all my planes to save the EZDOC settings, in order to upgrade that program to v2). And the airport of the city ahead is frame-rate-consuming also... Unfortunately KSFO was covered with clouds, and created by a non-Orbx provider (yes, there is such!), so I won´t show you that landing here. But I made it!
  4. Folks, now that my sim is working well again, it is time to start a tour around my recent purchases. Recent means "since December 2016", as I have not been flying in NA since then... So getting out of KLAX... ... across the Griffith Observatorium... ... and the Victorville plane cementary. Then further north across Edwards... ... and into Yosemite NP. Mono Lake is kind of disappointing in Open_LC, maybe it shoud be individually enhanced towards reality. Lake Tahoe definetively does not need to be enhanced, a "must-land" on every tour in the region.
  5. Gerold suggested a move south for some nicer weather when flying. So it is down to KBLU and his forecasting was spot on. 1. Yak-52 speeding down the runway at KBLU. 2. Heading east and following Route 80 towards Emigrant Gap. 3. Yuba Pass. 4. Lake Tahoe North Star. 5. At KTRK Truckee 6. Carnelian Bay on Lake Tahoe 7. Rubicon Peak is in the distance. 8. South Lake Tahoe 9. Now that was a nice landing. 10. A different parking spot. 11. VH-XSU "Red Alert" at Albury 6th April 2008. 12. A close up of the beautiful artwork a lot of these Yaks adorn. Some much better weather Gerold, thanks for the advise!
  6. Enjoy and thanks for looking! P3D - ASN Weather Cheers Karsten
  7. With the Staggerwing from Redding-Benton to Lake Tahoe for a skiing weekend Enjoy and thanks for looking! P3D - ASN Weather Cheers Karsten
  8. A relative short flight with tourists in a Quest Kodiak from Blue Canyon airport-KBLU to Lake Tahoe airport-KTVL :
  9. Well I just cannot let a bargain or something of interest pass me by. So last night and this morning have see me shell out on a few more great aircraft and 2 people on the forum shall take some of the blame. You know who you are. 1. The amazingly ungainly and inept Handley Page Hampden here at KFOT. 2. So typical of many of the RAF bombers at the beginning of the war the Hampden was obsolete. 3. One good thing was the spacious fuselage, not even room to pass the pilot a sandwich, and you most certainly would not have been able to turn around if you were thinking of Rita Hayworth! 4. Hats off to the brave crews that flew off to fight in such a dreadful aircraft. 5. GEROLD. It is no good hiding. You are to blame for this one, here at KTVL. What a top class aircraft(IMHO) although I have not tried returning it safely to earth yet. 6. Fascinated by the way the U/C retract. 7. This one has RB.211 engines, geeez they sound so good 8. Thanks Gerold, I would never have considered this one without your shots the other day. Fancy me buying something thay is modern military. 9. Now the next one to blame...... ah yes. Michael over there in Toowoomba. I never knew about the CT-4 until you mentioned it today. Guess what it is on sale for just US$5, what a bargain. A flight from Homer to try it out. 10. Goes like a dream and top class sound so no need to do any meddling there. Lets try Shift+1, ah the usual old style cockpit, Shift+2 GPS good. What was that? Don't press Shift+3, oh, too late. Just a small blank rectangle......nergh, followed by an app crash. All three aircraft are for FS9 and FSX but work fine usung the (cough) tool. Just be aware about the slight problem with the CT-4 and shift+3. They are, for me anyway all well worth the money and I am very happy with them along with Gerold and Michael.
  10. P3Dv3.2 Misha's KTVL Lake Tahoe Airport, ASN and Carenado EMB505_Phenom 300 Thanks gents, Voyager
  11. I blame Voyager, his set reminded me I had Lake Tahoe, so I thought I'd better go and see if I could find it. Out of KSTS, and eventually coming in south (too) low across Lake Tahoe - got to be around here somewhere soon! Ah - there it is Of course, way off line and going way too fast, so I guess I'll have to go around and try again This is what happens when I actually try to fly instead of just zooming around gawping at the scenery. Still, I've pre-ordered my copy of DT Flight School so maybe I might get around to figuring it all out at some point <grin>
  12. Grumman F9F Panther from Agua Dulce to Lake Tahoe Enjoy and thanks for looking! FSX - DX10 - Shade - ASN Weather Cheers Karsten
  13. A quick overview of KTVL Have a good flight
  14. First video posted here. I have a few more on a youtube page. This one is pretty bare bones...just a landing and taxi to parking at the lovely Tahoe - KTVL. No music, no chatter from me. Wanted to show off the winter coat at Tahoe, and the view of it from a new to me Thunderbolt, acquired over the holiday sales. Cheers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKPlK5KxNCA
  15. Just airborned from Lake Tahoe airport(KTVL) in my Waco but a sudden zero-visibility(but only for an instance):
  16. A short flight from KTVL to KLAX, PGMD 737 NGX, FTX Global and weather by ASN Have a good flight
  17. Now for a little longer ride, out of Benton... ... over Redding Mun., ... ... passing Lassen Peak... ... and Minden, ... ... towards Lake Tahoe. What´s going on in town today, mate? PS: Reinstallation of my FSX proceeds forther: FTXG and its "byproducts" installed, all working. Looks good. Still have trouble calibrating my throttle & stick...
  18. It is a bit on the cold side, here up in Tahoe... ... though still a bit early for skiing. And Fallen Leaf Lake is also not prepared for ice hockey. However, Desolation Wilderness looks pretty fresh. Sacramento is much better, with less interesting mesh. Turning over Monticello Dam towards Napa County airport. No photos from there, as WineFlow is not installed on my computer. Plus the airport totally lacks the orbx touch. And who would want to see a default here?
  19. Well it is Sunday night here in Oz and another week end's flying has almost come to an end. Here is a selection from some of the flights I have been on over the last 2 days. 1. Typhoon over the Namsen River, Norway. 2. On a flight from EDVY near Oerlinghausen. 3. This weeks treat is the Corvalis from Alabeo. Just love it even if the RL plane is not too common. At San Jose into San Carlos. 4. ORBX's Vans following the coast out of KMRY. 5. PAGS, isn't it obvious! Doing some scary hairybatics in the Corsair. 6. The Corvalis again in the Pyrenees close to Andorra. 7. Just love Manfred's C-97, here at FL200 after leaving KTVL. 8. Another beautiful piston heavy leaving KTVL is the DC-6. 9. The Electra heading away from Sedona. 10. A winter flight for the Corvalis from Parry Sound to CYVV Wiarton 11. After a short stop at KGCN the Electra headed north to you know where. 12. The PA-44 from WSS, a bit dated now but still a lovely plane to fly. After leaving PAGS it is passing over Noonah. Hope you enjoyed looking.
