  1. My shiny new Orbx purchase after some recommendations from another thread I created.. I'm a happy puppy!
  2. Anyone else have severe stutters just around KFOT in P3Dv4.1? I have the entire Orbx NA collection and this is the only airport that acts like this. I get heavy stutters in low frames for about 5-10 seconds then smooth then back to stutters. On a flight from there to KEKA which is 15nm away, upon getting close to KEKA the stutters are gone.

  4. KFOT Rohnerville - Unreasonably high VAS consumption when high density volumetric grass is enabled. An observation (using FSX acceleration): With the KFOT volumetric grass options turned completely off, I get memory usage of ~2500 MB (1500 MB remaining - this will obviously vary with aircraft used, etc). This is good. I also have KEKA installed and flying between the two airfields still leaves a decent amount of memory (there are points in the flight when memory usage actually drops). However, when I turn the KFOT volumetric grass option to high density it appears to eat an extra 500K of memory. Fly low swooping loops around the airfield and over the runway and watch the memory consumption climb. It tops off at ~500K more with the high density grass on. This seems exorbitantly high for what you would imagine to be a minor detail in the grand scheme of things (just some repeated objects - grass and stones - and their display coordinates?). I would suggest then that there is a problem here and I think it's probably worth investigating, if for no other reason than to learn what is causing it and avoid whatever it is when developing future sceneries. Normally I run with volumetric grass turned off at airports because it hurts my FPS (I've always been puzzled as to why the impact is quite as bad as it is). Here the FPS doesn't seem to be hit that much, but for me VAS is hammered. Fortunately this scenery still looks great without the extra grass so I'm not particularly traumatized by it :-) Can anyone with KFOT corroborate these findings?
  5. After KFOT is loaded i get this message "Fail to load textures KFOT_LEO1.DDS . It also happened with KEGE "AH_C47_FLOOR_T.DDS .Please advise Any help would be appreciated. I don't know if the FTX Central 3 update had any bearing on this.
  6. As you can see my elevation is all screwed up around both Airports. Libs up to date.I checked ADE_FTX_NCA_KFOT_elevation_adjustment.bgl and ADE_FTX_NCA_KMRY_elevation_adjustment.bgl in my scenery\world\scenery folder and both say BGL. Any other recommendations would be helpful. Thank you
  7. Well I just cannot let a bargain or something of interest pass me by. So last night and this morning have see me shell out on a few more great aircraft and 2 people on the forum shall take some of the blame. You know who you are. 1. The amazingly ungainly and inept Handley Page Hampden here at KFOT. 2. So typical of many of the RAF bombers at the beginning of the war the Hampden was obsolete. 3. One good thing was the spacious fuselage, not even room to pass the pilot a sandwich, and you most certainly would not have been able to turn around if you were thinking of Rita Hayworth! 4. Hats off to the brave crews that flew off to fight in such a dreadful aircraft. 5. GEROLD. It is no good hiding. You are to blame for this one, here at KTVL. What a top class aircraft(IMHO) although I have not tried returning it safely to earth yet. 6. Fascinated by the way the U/C retract. 7. This one has RB.211 engines, geeez they sound so good 8. Thanks Gerold, I would never have considered this one without your shots the other day. Fancy me buying something thay is modern military. 9. Now the next one to blame...... ah yes. Michael over there in Toowoomba. I never knew about the CT-4 until you mentioned it today. Guess what it is on sale for just US$5, what a bargain. A flight from Homer to try it out. 10. Goes like a dream and top class sound so no need to do any meddling there. Lets try Shift+1, ah the usual old style cockpit, Shift+2 GPS good. What was that? Don't press Shift+3, oh, too late. Just a small blank rectangle......nergh, followed by an app crash. All three aircraft are for FS9 and FSX but work fine usung the (cough) tool. Just be aware about the slight problem with the CT-4 and shift+3. They are, for me anyway all well worth the money and I am very happy with them along with Gerold and Michael.

  10. I recently picked up KFOT and I like it. The runway has a similar 'drop off the end of the earth' feel as KBLU. I like that. Ive been going back and forth between KSTS and KFOT. heres some shots: thanks for looking.
