  2. On the 8th of April 1967, 50 years ago today, the Beagle Pup made it's first flight from Shoreham Airport. Just over 2 1/2 years later the Government withdrew it's financial backing and Beagle Aircraft went under despite having over 200 on order..   3. From the sale. Have avoided Ireland all this while, but in a sale - I'll take it. Started in Cork, and the weather is just what I'd expect Getting too mizzy, so headed for Norway instead - ENNO looks like another wet one, but let's give it a go Damn! Still mizzy. I'll try one more place with real weather then maybe I'll have to fake it. Let's try Shoreham - Ah, sunshine at last! That's more like it! And my thanks to Ron Attwood for the repaint.

  5. surveying the airport area of Shoreham(EGKA) near Brighton at UK-southcoast via a police-heli. Again here is the grass as 'british-green' as possible.
  6. Hey guys, I just picked up WLS, ENG (already had SCO). I am thinking about getting NIR and IRL while the sale special is happening. I did read while back that Orbx wasn't contemplating making airports for those region that time. Will there potential for some nice Orbx airports (especially catered to big and small planes) in 2016 for these 2 regions? Also - I know you guys do not give updates on time frame; but can you throw me a bone about EGHI, EGPB, EGKA update queue for P3Dv3. I bought the regions especially to have those airports. I actually do like all of your England airports. I just want to know are they up in queue for release soon or will it take like 6 months+. You guys do have lot of stuff on your P3Dv3 conversion queue. This way I can plan on when to buy those specific airports. Thank You.

  8. Another flight I did a while ago was the short one from Goodwood to Shoreham. Started off in fine weather but by the time I arrived in Shoreham it is raining. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. Just trying out the new OZxpix upload page. Almost got it but will have to look closer as to see what I am doing wrong to make the pics upload out of order.

Thought I'd dust off my Fairchild - on a flight from the Channel Islands to Fairoaks via Shoreham Taxi and take-off from (ES's) Guernsey Passing over Alderney Isle of Wight Shoreham approach The luggage does not quite look suitable for a military airplane, does it? Vintage(ish) flight from Shoreham to Southampton Fly-by past the memorial at the entrance (which you might just about be able to make out right at the bottom of the pic) The paint on this recon Spit really blends in nicely with the landscape Flying past the landside of Southampton... ...and over the Spit memorial in the roundabout Well - I've had enough fun now. And it's getting *&5ted cold in the cockpit... Cheers Mallard
  14. Hi ftx team... I've been spending a lot of time recently flying around at EGKA as it's such a great add-on and also it's my local airport. I was wondering about the possibility of a few enhancements to make it even better! Here are my suggestions for your consideration.... It's great to see all the extras that were included in the scenery such as Lancing College, the power station, cement works and the bridges that span the river Adur, but one of the main things it's missing is the huge bridge that's missing that spans the A27 just to the east of the airport. The fact that it isn't there just takes something away from the realism that has been created so well. Flying out of runway 2 you just expect to see it there out of the left side window. Could this be added given that it's such a large structure and so close to the airport? For your reference, here's a pic: http://www.glaucus.org.uk/ErringhamRoadBridge.jpg The green field you can see beyond under the bridge is the northern end of Shoreham airport. The next enhancement ) is railway tracks. At the southern end of the airport (end of runway 20) there is the south coast railway. In the EGKA scenery the area that the railway runs can be clearly seen running parallel with the roads and the coastline and there is also the railway bridge (beautifully modeled) which actually has the railway tracks, but no tracks either side of the bridge. Of course, if you're adding the railway tracks... and since the recently released EGHI has them.... what's the possibility of adding a Southern Railways train to run along them? It would look absolutely amazing and really bring the area to life with the additional animation. And finally.... and I think I might be stretching things a bit here... there are numerous electricity pylons that seem to be accurately placed in the area over the south downs - it would be great to see power lines running between them. Is it even possible to model power lines?? Anyway, as I say, a great scenery addon that includes a very generous area which is a real bonus and I would love to see these enhancements that I think would really finish it off superbly.   15. Some first impressions from a flight from Southampton to Shoreham Weather picked up during the flight Some cropping. Must say that I'm deeply impressed by what I've seen so far...   20. Jut a few shots from a round trip from Shoreham to Popham in the A2A Civilian Mustang (Big Beautiful Doll). The V-key was pressed at times when my hands weren't full of Mustang torque and sheer power/speed! A good challenge trying to get it stopped at Popham! Pre start checks on the ramp at Shoreham. Hazy day - beautiful scenery. Phew....!! Just made it at Popham! Stopped and shutdown. Peace... Gone for brunch. On the move to runway 26 at Popham - the trusty Antonov in the background. Exterior shot - Love this repaint! On approach, runway 20 at Shoreham Glideslope.....Check, Speed.....Check Taxi to parking - managed to land without hitting runway lights..... (this time!) I spy with my little eye.... Loving Orbx England and the sheer pace at which the airfields are being brought out, thanks for the hard work chaps!

That's more like it Keep those tyres off the ground Did the length - now to hit full power and get back up into safer altitude pronto! En route to more mischief Lining up Staying a bit higher this time The second pass Bet the visitors to the cafés had something to tell about when they got back home... Cheers Mallard PS - Kids! Don't do this without sufficient training and supervision! These stunts were undertaken in controled circumstances.
  22. Well, Sir! Congratulations on winning the free trial flight in yesterday's tombola. Just try to keep her level at first - oh, and I would appreciate it if you could close the door. I did ask you, if it was secured before we started to taxi, didn't I? All right - we're clear of the runway... But you might want to gain some altitude... All you have to do is pull back on the yoke in front of you. That was just a fraction too much... No, Sir. I do not believe that we have to use the bypass when flying around the town. Ah, yes - the lights should indeed be switched on. Well - the time is nearly up, so we should slowly be heading back to the airport. That turn was again a bit abrupt, wouldn't you agree? No, Sir. That's the railway. Not the runway. And we should be on the other side of the tower.... Congratulations! That was a nearly perfect landing! Er - no, Sir. When I said we should park the plane, I did not mean on the parking lot outside... Well - I hope that you had an enjoyable time and would look forward to seeing you in our flying school in the future! I do believe that you really have those Biggles-genes in you, Sir! (*and I know we can make a mint from him before we issue his license*) Cheers Mallard (LOD_Radius set to 5.5 here and I can't see much of a difference. But everything went really smoothly...)
  23. ...in the Air Ambulance. But things seem to be orderly around here at the moment. Nobody climbing around on the old pier... ...not much doing at the cabins... ...and the motorists are behaving as well... ...so I might as well head home for a nice cuppa. Cheers Mallard
