  1. I just bought a new computer so I could run FSX with the graphic settings dialed up to 11, and started running into a problem. When I run FSX with FTX Products (Specifically FTX Global with NA Land Class) on the DX10 Preview, I see a bunch of black shadows where I'm assuming trees are supposed to be. I have the FTX Trees addon, but still run into the same issues when I turn the FTX Defaults off. When I run in DX9, everything's fine, but the fps is sluggish at best. I'm running an AMD Radeon R7 250 Series with 16 Gigs of ram and an AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight Core Processor. I've got RadeonPro set to
  2. A few shots from a quick trip between Wrangell and Petersburg, weather was pretty cloudy most of the way and I couldn't see much, I almost missed the airport. Enjoy !! Holding short for a Learjet getting ready to TO And ... there he goes Leaving Wrangell Approaching Petersburg Turning to Final On Final Taxiing back to parking Parked at Johnson-Petersburg Welcome to Petersburg Thanks for looking in !!
  3. Hi there, there is a red halo "above" 4 runway edge lights as shown in the pic. The strange thing is that all other runway edge lights are glowing well as expected depending on the runway location (central or in front/rear runway section). Only the 4 shown lights are glowing red. Any advise to correct this is appreciated. Wulf
  4. Finally the lights in Cote d'Azur have turned on! To wish you all a very happy XMas and a great new year!
  5. I had an extremely enjoyable flight from Half Moon Bay to Monterey this morning. As an aside, these will be some of my last FSX shots, as I'm upgrading to a new PC, and I'll be making the jump to P3D. Enjoy...
  6. I wanted to enjoy a ride at this lovely spot and lifted off... only to find the pilot had left! Thanks to Steve's DX10 fixer... shadows... how would I have ever known otherwise?!
  7. Little time to fly these days... but time to acquire the new releases - lov'em all!
  8. San Carlos Airport is literally down the street from my office, so it was a guaranteed buy. I made my inaugural flight down to Monterey.
  9. Todays early morning airliner flight from Missoula to Jackson Hole with a Project Airbus A320 including FMC from Francois Dore - FSX Real weather Enjoy! Wulf
  10. Hi there, the chimney smoke of the two cabins in front of RWY08 is flashing or is completly surpressed when using DX10 during dawn independent of the PAJN ORBX control panel check box set to DX9 or DX10. At day the smoke is visible and fine. SteveFX (dev from DX10 fixer) could not find a rational and satisfactory workaround for this prob. Any chance to get it solved? An intermediate solution is to switch on the aircraft landing lights, but it is not really the preferred solution. Wulf
  11. It might be cold, but so what, it'll be quiet and the air will be clean!
  12. Gotta love those clouds rolling down the hill in the background!!
  13. ...continuing my tour of Australia in the the Warbirds of the Luftwaffe... I forgot how well done the AUS Freeware airports were. Thanks again ORBX! Leaving Cunderdin: Buzzing around Busselton:
  14. I decided to go back to Australia for some landing practice at Lilydale, and check out a new-to-me Fw190 repaint from Huub Vink. Enjoy...
  15. Part 7 - High River Regional (CEN4) to Felts Field (KSFF) - The weather was a little rough once I left CEN4, but it got better until I was about 30 miles out of Felts. My video driver crashed, which caused FSX to go TU also. So the last few shots are of a re-launch, from a nearby airfield; and the weather was not exactly the same, unfortunately. You can make out Bonners Ferry (65S) on the plateau down at the bottom of the shot.
  16. Part 6 - Squamish (CYSE) to High River Regional (CEN4) - I looked at the weather for this route earlier today, and it was favorable, so I gave it a go. It was a long flight, at 361.2 nautical miles, and even in the Jug, it took almost two hours. OpusFSX really shined on this trip, and I got some screenshots that I really liked. It was actually tough trying to whittle it down to just ten. BTW, if this was a combat sim, I would've shot down the two Cessna's that jumped me in line as I was on the downwind leg.
  17. Good afternoon gentleman, Suddenly I've got this dark ground texture appearing at Lake Tahoe Airport, in front of the terminal: I don't know if it's related or not, but yesterday I purchased and installed FTX Global. In FTX Central the North America option is ON (I understand it's well inside FTX NCA). Anyway, I've tried reinstalling the scenery again and the FTXORBXLIBS_141228.exe but the faulty texture is still there . Everything else seems to be Ok. I use DX10+fixer (no problems in the past). Any help would be appreciated. Greetings from Catalonia. Jordi Orde
  18. Part 5 - Swanson (2W3) to Squamish (CYSE) - The weather wasn't the best, but better than the last leg. As you'll see, I had to commandeer a new Jug as I pranged the prop upon landing at Swanson last time. This was a pretty straightforward flight until I got vectored for the approach at Squamish...in the mountains, covered in clouds, with some real gusty winds! I put her down in one piece, but I'm sure the mechanic is waiting to scream at me about the struts that I fully compressed.
  19. I thought with a new graphics card FSX would perform a little better. I didnt expect that. I changed my Radeon 5870 with a GTX970 and I am such amazed how much more I can get out of old FSX. I run with full AA and nearly all maxed out without having stutters.
  20. It was a lovely day to skim the coast, so....
  21. My MIL is going to be staying with us for awhile, due to some health issues that she is just now overcoming; but since our spare room is the flight deck, I won't be flying for awhile. Happy she's better, wish I could still fly around ORBX-Land. I'll take the former every single time though. I forgot I had purchased KMRY during the sale, so here's a short flight to Hayward Executive with the Butcher Bird. Enjoy...
  22. For part three of my tour, I took off from Redding, and flew north to Creswell. In the A2A Thunderbolt, with real world weather provided by OpusFSX. Enjoy...
