  1. Hi all, A short hop in my newly aquired C-47 (disguised as DC-3) in the beautiful Openlc North American frozen wilderness!
  2. I guess I've watched too many Ice Pilots episodes on Netflix... The "sched" from Yellowknife, NWT to Hay River, NWT. Taking only about an hour, it's a nice way to get in a flight on a weeknight. No particularly good shots here. Just wanted to share. Pleasant weather aside, from the rain. Forgot to untick the replay text. Cleared the threshold in Hay River.
  3. A "Tiki tour" is New Zealand slang for a sight-seeing trip. Perfect for the purpose - the beautifully restored NZWarbirds DC-3: Adam.
  4. Hi, here is a super short flight in Homer, Alaska. Just wanted to test landing on the ice runway at Homer. Thought the DC-3 would be the perfect aircraft since the approach speed is very low. It is necessary to adjust the configuration settings at Homer, before the flight, to make sure that the runway is frozen... Few feet left before the landing That was a nice experience, since we always project that it is going to be very slippery but it is not the case. Cheers! (Maybe one day Orbx will be allowed to modifiy the flightsim platform and add a CRFI (JBI) index of .40 or less to increase the difficulty in slowing down and controlling the aircraft?)
  5. No Yak, but plenty of Dak! Had a bit of fun playing with SweetFX ... tweaked everything like mad, then discovered my final tweak was pretty well what I use as default P3D (without HDR) anyay. Still, it was a fun journey! Either or both of these could be in SweetFX, but I really wouldn't know any more  Northland, NZ ... somewhere near [the dreaded] Dargaville. Adam.
  6. Dear All, This project of Mickey McBrian just came to my attention. It is a Buffalo DC-3 made of Lego with retractable gear! http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/51472# I think some of you might want to cast their vote for this new project (I did that). I would have given a lot if Lego-sets like this would have been available in my childhood. It is a sure buy if it makes it to the market. Have fun!
  7. A bit of blatant self-promotion here ... but it's for my favourite aircraft (in RL) - not counting any Spit, that is . I think A2A have got totally bored with my requests for an Accusim DC-3, so I went for Manfred Jahn's C-47/DC-3 V2. It's a beauty - and (unbelievably) freeware. A *must-have* - particularly as it looks like there's quite a team creating additional VC panels and other embellishments. Here's the NZ Warbirds (Ardmore) classic: An iconic aircraft that looks great from any angle (unlike the repainter!). Hosted by the excellent AussieX: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/4407-manfred-jahns-douglas-c-47-v2-zk-dak-nz-warbirds/ Adam.
