  1. After all that open water in the Samoa-series I suddenly I had the urge to make a quick flight around Cunderdin - which is nice and dry and inland I checked on Google Earth, and as far as I can see the Neptune is indeed still at Cunderdin aerodrome. I wonder what will ever become of that plane... More or less cropped DX10s Cheers Mallard
  2. ...continuing my tour of Australia in the the Warbirds of the Luftwaffe... I forgot how well done the AUS Freeware airports were. Thanks again ORBX! Leaving Cunderdin: Buzzing around Busselton:
  3. G'day all, As many of you know, Graham Eccleston has been working very hard to get many of our Australian airports up to P3D2 compatibility for you all to enjoy alongside FTX_AU. I'd like to showcase a small set of shots with the latest three releases; Jandakot YPJT, Cunderdin YCUN and Busselton YBLN, all of which are located in south-west Western Australia. These airports were the first three that I made for ORBX, and given that they date back to late 2008/early 2009, I thought I'd offer a quick re-introduction for those that are newer members to the forum. JANDAKOT AIRPORT YPJT Janda
  4. G'day all! Exciting news from me today, and you may be able to guess what it is from the topic title Go get a coffee, this one is long... If you've been following my other long winded thread describing my learning experience as I have progressed from newbie to solo glider pilot, you'll know that a couple of months ago I passed a big milestone - I obtained my "C" certification. The A, B and C certificates are the stepping stones from first going solo to being let off the chain to further advance in the sport. I now have all three badges, and last time I was up the club I exercised
  5. Taking the Diamond Twin Star on a flight from Cunderdin to Jandakot Sparkling in the late afternoon sun On course These dried-up lakes certainly make for some great VFR landmarks Cheers Mallard
  6. After my bad weather experience in southern England yesterday (http://www.orbxsyste...at-the-seaside/), i switched scenery and visited Western Australia with a flight from Cunderdin to Busselton. The weather was great. Parking at Cunderdin Takeoff from Cunderdin On the way to Perth Perth with Swan River Along the coast to Busselton Busselton landing Parking at Busselton Enjoy and thanks for looking.
  7. After getting to grips with the antialiasing (the graphics card was forcing its way and suppressing FSX's settings) I checked the results on a quick fly around Cunderdin Then I re-checked my cfg - and saw that the Buffer-Pool tweaks were gone. After re-setting these I tried the results during a flight from Busselton to Bunbury Over Bunbury Never been here before and was quite surprised with the amount of detail And I certainly haven't noticed the sun reflecting of the asphalt before So now I'm hoping and praying that the cfg will stay as i
  8. G'day all, It's been many many moons since I last posted some screenies, what with all the real life flying fun I've been having. I've started playing around with FSX as a soaring simulator again just lately, and while it in no way compares with Condor for the mechanics, it certainly does look a lot nicer! The strength with FSX in ORBX land is that I can actually use this to practise my real cross country flights to some degree... most of the landmarks I need to identify in the real world are actually well represented in FTX AU with OZx. Having my home airfield represented with Jarrad's
  9. G'day all, For those of you who enjoyed my last post on my journey to getting my Gliding certification, here's some more pics I headed out to the club Sunday morning nice and early, knowing there was a fair bit of work to be done around the airfield. Had a beautiful drive out, driving out through the hills and wheatbelt is just stunning at dawn. As I was heading through Northam I heard the news about Neil Armstrong passing away and I was a bit shattered, as he's always been one of my heroes. Ironically, just as I was getting over that bit of news, I saw one of the most beautiful sigh
