  1. Fun flight from ORBX Pearson Field in Vancouver Washington to ORBX Starks Twin Oaks in Oregon. Using Prepar3d V4.5 ORBX PNW, Portland City, REX Essentails +, Coradado CT182T G1000 and may some other addons long forgot.
  2. This was the first flight from an airport to another airport I have undertaken in a while. I think I've been spending too much time doing other things and not enough time flying. This flight was a disaster. First I was snookered on the apron at 77S Creswell (Hobby) Airport, and couldn't find a way on to the runway. (Thankfully FSX has a slew function). Then I was actually shocked and a bit disoriented when I lifted off and almost immediately found myself in thick cloud with zero visibility, thanks to the real world weather I was flying in. Finally, after eventually finding my way to Starks Twin Oaks, and after two go arounds, I landed short of the runway, hard! It's a good thing I don't fly in real life. Cheers,
  3. Thanks Orbx for bringing my favorite little airfield to P3D... looks better than ever!
  4. The next stage of my NA Tour took me from Goheen to Siletz Bay with a break at Stark's Twin Oaks. 5. Since we're in the sale season now, I thought it appropriate to mention one of the things I've been working on. It's not a new scenery this time, but rather a bundle of fixes and improvements to an old stand-by. Stark's Twin Oaks (7S3), one of the first airports released for the PNW region, is getting a new coat of paint! The 1.5 patch is about to enter beta testing. Improvements include: Re-colored 30cm airport photoreal textures for more contrast, saturation, and clarityMUCH new NatureFlow vegetation added, specifically grasses around the airportNew NatureFlow falling leaves in autumn from selected treesA full sound pack, including conditional wind sounds. If the wind is over 5 knots, you can now hear it rustling the trees nearbyRequired terrain mesh resolution will now be 5m, in keeping with every other Orbx airport, without the "floating objects" anomaliesSome texture files that gave a few customers grief have been repairedThis will be a cumulative patch that will include all improvements made since v.1.0, such as PeopleFlow, increased frame rates due to autogen improvements, etc. Combined with the Day/Night light switcher from FTX Central, I'm seeing frame rates that are considerably higher and much steadier than the original version, even with autogen dialed up high. If you already own 7S3, this update will be free, of course. If you don't, here's your chance to get it at 33% off for this week only, so you'll be ready when the patch is released. Here are a few shots of version 1.5:
