  1. Hi Folks, After a major update of FTX ENG last year, it's now time for FTX SCO to have the same. The coming service pack will provide over 60 new different POIs all over the territory. It also enhances some Scottish Islands with a reworked landclass and a geopositionning of buildings. Guess which could be the places where the capture are made (both FSX/P3D): Some comparisons before/after: Mull galloway Lighthouse Kissimul - Barra Island Center of Glasgow The SP is now in beta and will be available next month. Stay tunned. Richard PS: For whose are wondering if the strange grey issue over Loch Ness is fixed for P3D (v3.4), the answer is yes but nothing was done our side
  2. Hi folks, after a all new install of the ORBX scenerys with FTX Centra 3 I have a issue with light spots in the landscape in dusk, dawn and night. At daylight the spots are not visible, but when the daylight wents of the spots become visible. They look like the light spots below the 3d lights at the roads or at some buildings, but at these places thera are no buildings or roads. I did not recognice these spots in the past, but I am not shure if it comes with the new installation with FTX Central 3... any idea? thanks... /Hendrik/ The pictures are at this location, but it seems to be everywhere in the highlands... 3. A very welcome addition to my hangar is the Trinidad and Tobago. A beautiful plane which was a fairly common sight when I lived in Mildura with the TB-10 trainers making their way up from Adelaide. So using my accumulation of reward points and it being on sale made this plane an extremely reasonable buy from JF. A circuit around tropical Sumburgh, all self explanatory. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
  4. Here is another delightful old aircraft the Westland Widgeon. Only 26 were built in the late 20s before production was halted. The Widgeon was much more expensive than it's competitors and Westland had other aircraft the wanted to concentrate on. 1. Lifting off from XSTR, Strathallan. 2. Just out of view to the left is the town of Auchterader which has the dubious claim to fame of having the most expensive house prices in Scotland. 3. The River Earn, a wonderful river for Anglers, is normally shallow and fast flowing. 4. Crossing the A9 near Aberuthven. Running from Falkirk to Scrabster the A9 is the longest major road in Scotland. 5. The junction of the A90, A912 and M90 at Craigend. The Earn and Tay Rivers can be seen along with Perth. 6. A close up of the engine with all of the gubbins on top working away, fascinating. At another quaint place name, Glencarse 7. The disused RAF base at Errol on the banks of the Tay Estuary. The area is the stronghold of the fairly rare Bearded Tit. The town of Errol just out of sight to the right of the shot has a large church called the Cathederal of the Carse which was built in 1831. 8. Approaching Dundee at Longforgan with the infamous Tay Rail Bridge crossing the estuary. 9. Arrival at EGPN. 10 That's all folks! Hope you enjoyed this flight in a very beautiful part of the world.
  5. I could not resist the Aeroplane Heaven Typhoon or the wonderful repaints by Jankees. This one is wearing an imaginary paint scheme, something which I greatly approve of. As good as it is to see authentic schemes it is also wonderful so see folks imagination at work. 1. Taking off from Leuchers about to fly around St Andrew's Bay. 2. Over the Home of Golf at St Andrew's. 3. Heading for the Tay Estuary. Carnoustie, another world famous golf course is just out of view to the right. 4. Over the two Tay Bridges at Dundee. 5. Perth and the River Tay. 6. Over the Cairngorms at Braigh Coire Chruinn-Bhalgain 7. Glenmore and Loch Morlich 8. Lochindorb close to Granton on Spey. 9. At the mouth of the Moray Firth with Inverness Dalcross just in sight above the tail. 10. Landing at EGPE 11. Beautiful plane and colour scheme, well worth buying. Hope you enjoyed the flight.
  6. The Beagle Pup is slightly more modern than the British planes I have been flying of late, even so, it took it's first flight almost 50 years ago. 1. Here we go, taking off from Aboyne, a delightful little glider strip I can remember passing almost 50 years ago in RL. 2. Heading back over SCO1 with the town of Aboyne in the distance. 3. Ballater where the River Dee is joined by the Muick. 4. Still following the Dee we are about to drop in and visit someone very famous. 5. Well we could not land as Beagle Pups are not welcome here, only Corgies with the odd Labrador gun dog. 6. This is Balmoral Castle, built in the 1850s for Victoria and Albert. The 50000 acre estate is owned by the Royal Family. 7. At the Briidge of Dee now and a last look at Balmoral in the far distance. 8. Happily flying along Glen Dee. 9. Now in Glen Feshie at the watershed of the Feshie and the smaller Geldie Burn. 10. Following the River Feshie close to Achlean. 11. Turning to land at SCO4 Aviemore Feshie with the River Spey in the background. 12. Taxying in after a very scenic flight.
  7. Not as romantic as it sounds but a flight from Newcastle to Edinburgh in another beautiful old plane from the past, the ATL-98 Carvair. 1. Lifting off from Newcastle International. All these airports now have new fancy names, but I still know it as Woolsington! 2. Turning for Turnhouse over the A1 at Wideopen. 3. Bedlington (for those who like dogs) is on the left and Blythe (for those who like Blythe) is on the coast on the Blythe River estuary. 4.. Not far away and flying over Morpeth. 5. Leaving Morpeth behind with the A1 Great North Road. 6. Close to Alnwick. The weather was usually damp and dreary when I visited this part of the world but my first encounter was on a glorious day like this. 7. Into the strangely patterned Cheviot Hills. 8. On Guard! Flying over the River Tweed at Coldstream! Berwick can just be seen on the coast. Most importantly we are now into Scotland. 9. Well into our descent and Cockenzie Power Station stands out on the shores of the Firth of Forth. 10. Arthurs Seat, Meadowbank Stadium and Hibernian's Easter Road Stadium means we are over Edinburgh. 11. Over the A90 at The Brigg with the obligatory view of the Forth Bridges. Almost at Edinburgh Turnhouse. 12. All the doors open and waiting for the car unloading ramps to arrive. Hope you enjoyed the flight as much as I did!
  8. NZNP to Welly: Turning at JONAH, bound for UMAGA then the ILS Aberdeen to Humberside: And a couple of the North Sea in the fading light: All plain Vs. ps... oops... missed one: descending into Invercargill:
  9. Here's a few random shots at various times of the day, mainly in the morning and at dusk in P3D 2.3. I have now completely said goodbye to FSX as I'm now getting a 1/3 more performance in P3D over the same areas in FSX, except I can max out P3D OrbX Airport settings and still maintain 30fps.
  10. Here's a few shots from last nights departure from Inverness Scotland to the Faroe Islands.
  11. Few presses of the V-key whilst departing Sumburgh for Glasgow. Love this aircraft immensely, brings back the fun in airliner flying but the fun of tricky approaches etc.
  12. I took advantage of the fact that everybody is flying around Sumburgh at the moment to enjoy the empty airspace over Scotland to fly from Inverness to Stornoway. Enjoy and thanks for looking! FSX - DX10 - Shade
  13. Takeoff in the early morning from Oban (EGEO) in Scotland, flying along the coast of Northern Ireland and landing in Donegal (EIDL) in Ireland. 15. Some shots of two flights from today (November 12th) at the same time (around 8.30 am), with the same plane (just a different paint) but in different hemispheres. Flight No 1 was in New Zealand from Martins Bay to Milford Sound. 16. Just in the mood for some sightseeing Sco, take off: ULL Glenforsa airport - Landed: XBRO Broadford Didn' flew straight line, just discovering the beauty in that region, AMAZING! So this are some shots of it. In fact I landed with a smoking V Please enjoy All Straight V's Cheers
  17. Still testing Shoreham Carfiff and Dundee Some cropping, but nothing else. Cheers Mallard
  18. Just picked up my new SSD which will become the dedicated FSX-drive (I simply ran out of space on the current one). And since it might be a day or two before I will be back in the (virtual) skies - here are some random pics from around the pre-Global world Shetlands SAK (when I got it running again - which is one of the other reasons for a clean re-install of the whole schmeer) and Australia Cheers Mallard
