Crane Island ... ... and Anacortes. A great area to fly, but this plane is not really the one I would chose for island hopping. The Tesoro refinery, ... ... Cornet Bay, ... ... and Paine Field. Seattle, with typical weather... ... and a little view of the city, just before getting down in KSEA. And now out of NA into Global!
No, no, not the queen... . Took off from Bellingham in a much-too-big bird for this tour. Passing Orcas Island... Waldronaire 90WA. No way to land the Caravan there, it seems... Spieden Island. Looks quite uncommon - could be off the West Australian coast... But also too steep & short for my taste. Stuart Island looks much better (the one in the back, not in the front...): The place to change planes: Victoria, BC. And with the smallest possible one towards Brentwood bay... ... and Victoria downtown.
The freeware 7WA3 West Wind does contain some more challenges for small planes...: On downwind southwards from West Wind, over Nooksak River: Cedarville. The airstrip is not AFCADed, and not easy to spot... ... but if you found it, landing is only obstructed by the trees... They might need a gardener there: Done. And I am not alone here. Compare this layout with Google Earth, you will be amazed. Back through the trees, and turning south over Land OÂ´Lakes Purina Feed Company... ... towards Riverside. The airstrip is clearly to be seen ... NOT! OK, now a bit better. Beware the powerlines... Remark: The grass looks weird from some angles (like in this shot), but from other angles it is ok. No idea, but for airstrip #3 in a freeware package, I am happy with that... After some hours (with a good BBQ) I went on, eastwards: ... towards the OZxed Kendall WN08: The windsacks are the best runway indicators here... ... but who the hxxx has placed a fence directly next to the runway? Good this is only virtual...
