  1. The title says all... Now this landmark is available, on a short flight from freeware Rinteln to my homebase.
  2. After searching for Wolter at Hilversum and Almere (w/o success, he must have been at his computer answering support requests...), I left from Hilversum ... ... followed the railway line from Amersfoort via Apeldoorn, Deventer, Hengelo, Enschede, Bad Bentheim and Rheine to Osnabrück (the train connection is every 2 hrs, and arrives in Hannover at 13:18, 15:18 and so on - I use it every day...) ... ... to Porta Westfalica-Feldheim, surrounded by the Weser river and some flooding lakes. The Porta itself. I see it from my office, but even with DEX the monument is missing (and that is a pain for me! ): Anybody reading this who could add it to the virtual world? My office building should be in an industrial area around these little harbours. The crossing waterways are correct, but the bridge is missing... http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasserstra%C3%9Fenkreuz_Minden Bueckeburg military airbase. Just next to "my" railway line. CH-53s are stationed here, waiting for their tours around my site . Hannover, with the Niedersachsenstadion and the well-known-missing Maschsee. Final towards 27L... ... and done!
  3. Continuing the pleasure cruise around my home, it is now time to support the postal delivery service onto the Ostfriesische Inseln. Just a few years ago, this was also the way to bring the new movies to the Island´s cinemas (IT progress changes the times...). I am not sure if someone is interested to read that I was actually WALKING to most of these islands when I was a child - which is possible during low tide (and with a certified guide, as this can be very dangerous). Getting ready to start from Bremerhaven, in the usual north german summer weather - and again facing the lovely placed windmills. Just after crossing the Weser to the west, the Nordenham airworks appear. They are building steel and titanium fuselage parts for Airbus and - under contract - for Boeing and Dassault. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premium_AEROTEC Arriving at the Jade bight, obviously a windy place... Wilhelmshaven with its oil harbour. I remember driving there years ago on early Sunday mornings on the Autobahn. No traffic. No speed limit. And surely faster than the Cessna... Harlesiel airport - I would suspect this is too small even for this bird. Wangerooge ahead, for the first delivery landing... ... and taking off again. Now for Langeoog... ... and Juist. The tour continued via Borkum with some international postings to Hilversum, but I have already published that part... http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/83710-looking-for-wolter/?hl=wolter
  4. ... nearly. From Sylt, the northernmost point of Germany... ... crossing the Nord-Ostsee-Kanal (Kiel Canal) at Rendsburg, one of the most frequented canals of the world - and home to the longest rowing race. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiel_Canal Following the canal westwards... ... to the industrial area at Brunsbüttel, where the canal merges with the mouth of the Elbe river. Down the river to Cuxhaven ("Alte Liebe, Kugelbake, hoi hoi hoi!"), where we see another crappy harbour texture... ... and over to the Bremerhaven container terminal. Entering the lovely Weser river, towards the airfield Bremerhaven-Luneort. But who has placed the windmills crosswind indicators so close to the runway ?
  5. I left Kasi´s city early ... ... crossed the (rainy) Uckermark, home region of our chancellor ... ... and arrived at the Oderhaff, at the border between Poland and Germany: Did not want to got through the customs procedure, so I turned westwards over Heringsdorf (behind) ... .. to Peenemünde. Looks so peaceful today, but this airport is a famous place: To the right of it there were the test stands and rocket batteries, "widely regarded as the birthplace of modern rocketry and spaceflight.". We will never forget that building the weapon V2 killed more lifes of the forced workers than their impacts in England did to the civilians. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peenem%C3%BCnde_Army_Research_Center Doubtless the people involved at that place had developed much better products in the after-war carrier, cumulating in the Bell X-15, the Saturn V rocket and the basic principles of the Space Shuttle. Interesting reading! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Dornberger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernher_von_Braun http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Rudolph Nuclear power plant Lubmin. Went off-stream in 1990, still about 1000 people are working on the decontamination and dismantling. The orbyfied landscape of Rügen. Looks so impressive! Rügen airport. I am not sure if I got the textures right, or if the taxiway only needs hovering. But actually it seems to me I have forgotten to install the freeware!
  6. Took off early in the morning from EDCG Rügen to the east, ... ... to the beach of Binz and Prora - surprisingly the gigantic hotel is missing: "The buildings extend over a length of 4.5 kilometres ..." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prora And northwards to the Cliffs of Rugen and Cape Arkona: I had to repeat part of this tour later on, as Frank revealed to me the overcoming of DEX-FTX overlaps in EDCG... taking off in Rügen again: The Rügendamm at Stralsund, with deactivated Vector bridges (cat 1-3): Las Velgast: The final to EGBH: What a nice work! Thanks for picking me up, Frank. Nice shirt, btw. And I am sure we will squeeze all three of us into that car...
  7. Inspired by the plane Mallard chose for his Tahoe sightseeing, I knew which one to take for the tour to Berlin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin_Airlift#The_start_of_the_Berlin_Airlift Climbing out of Hanover: Hmm, Wolfsburg is not looking like it did in 1948. But the Volkswagen works are still at the same place. Crossing the Elbe in Magdeburg: Potsdam and the lakes: A view over Berlin from the south: To the left there is the Olympic stadium of 1936, Tiergarten just before my nose, and the Alexanderplatz to the right. Approaching the only suitable airport: Tempelhof. At least in the sim it is still in operation. The city is under my right wheel. Tied down. In front of one of the longest buildings ever built: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempelhof_Airport Oh no, I forgot to drop the Candy for Kasi ....
  8. Hello, after adding the Koehlbrand bridge from the DEX landmarks package I have the same phenomenon in Hamburg that we know from the Sydney harbour bridge: A road on zero level under the bridge. Does someone know which file(s) to deactivate to overcome this? PS: I forgot to add the coordinates into the screenie. You can find them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6hlbrand_Bridge
