  3. A Foster Wickner Wicko to be precise, no I had never heard of one either. G-AFJB was built in 1938 and of the 10 Wickos made it is the only survivor. 1.   4. Not the best of days to be flying. 1. Not the original RG333, which crashed in Germany in August 1945. This one is really G-AIEK painted with invasion stripes. 2.   5. Went to start a flight from LDDU to EDDB today but there is a big problem with a rodent. My mouse would not work. So into town and picked up a new one and soon it was installed and ready to fly. 1. On our way from LDDU after about one hours delay. 2. The weather ahead is not going to be too kind for much sightseeing, a last look at Dubrovnik before climbing above the clouds. 3.   8. I can only ever remember seeing one of these huge aircraft flying. We were driving down to Littlehampton for a day at the beach. It was a typical summers day. 8/8 cloud at about 4000ft and intermittent showers. Out of the clouds flew this Blackburn Beverley. It lumbered past over the South Downs and was soon out of sight, Must have made a big impression on me as it was over 50 years ago yet I can still picture it now. I do not know much about the conflict on the Aleutian Island in WW2 but doing a quick read Cold Bay or Fort Randall as it was known then, had P-40s and P-38s amongst other planes based there during the conflict. The P-38s, with their long range were able to help drive the invaders from Attu and Kiska. The P-38 depicted here is famous for being rescued from under 268 feet of snow on Greenland 50 years after force landing with 5 others and 2 B-17s while on their way to England.   12. Blue Wave Energy Partners (BWEP) is an excellent freeware from RTMM and the first two parts have now been released. I took my first flight along the Trans Alaska Pipeline in a Cessna 172 the other night. Very impressive it was too. However after reading the BWEP page on RTMM and seeing some shots from Oldendirt I realised that a chopper would be the best way to view the pipeline, or so I thought.   13. I thought it would be quite easy to fly from Valdez to the mouth of the Copper River at Klutina Lake where Klutina Outfitteres is located. 1. As I had to climb to about 8000ft to safely get over the mountain I chose a very powerful aircraft. 2. Simple, follow the Valdez Glacier and then take the second glacier on the right. 3. Pity I never thought about the clouds though. 4. All I had to do here was head NNE and follow the Tonsina Glacier. 5. Without realising I had turned ESE, the moon should have been a give away. 7.
  14. Inspired by a cooking show I watched at lunch time I thought I would do a flight from Corse or Corsica to us English speaking types. So I chose the Lufthansa A310 for the flight. 1.   15. Andy posted a few shots of his DH60 over Exeter this morning which has prompted me to re install this beautiful old plane and give it some air time after a long time.   18. Decided to go for a drive in the car I would buy if I ever won millions in the lottery. What I am trying to do is find my last house in the UK before I came to Australia. As my luck would have it , it is just off the edge of the EGHI scenery area. So much change in the last 36 years. 1.   23. A continuation of my post this morning. No payload and only 10% fuel. 1. Using Shift+P to make the most of every inch of runway. 2. The port outrigger is nearly on the taxi way. 3. Pedal to the metal and take off depends on runway length not speed. 4. We are off and airborne. 5. FS9 model with 744 2d flight deck and RB.211 engines sound.   24. Just noticed the latest Norwegian airport is out. A quick flight before being interrupted by some bad drama across the road from us.
