  1. Just to show the old can still be gold! FTX AU - probably the oldest of all the ORBX add-ons - can still delight. This is Fraser Island (Queensland) - with an correspondingly ancient add-on (but thankfully updated to P3Dv3 by Lionheart) - the Quest Kodiak. A great choice for PNG areas, it's equally at home here in Oz. A marvellous little plane all round. Adam.

  5. I got an error earlier while trying to change from Global to Oceania in FTX Central v2. I clicked OK, then cycled back and forth between Global and Oceania again, and this what I get just south of Woombera. i really don't want to nuke my entire P3D/ORBX install, so hopefully there is an easy fix.

  9. Katanning is a small town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. It is an important rail centre for the Great Southern Railway to Albany.   10. A change of pace from flying airliners and a different era too. Took the Miles Hawk Speed 6 for a journey out of Albany. Took off from the active runway and very nearly didn't get too far. 1. Met this bloke coming the other way, lucky I took evasive action. 2. Heading for the coast and then going to turn west. 3. Wilson Inlet at Denmark. 4. Ocean Beach. 5. Parry Beach. 6. Eagle Nest.   11. Spent all yesterday flying Airbus airliners. Did a couple of complete flights and a few departures from recently purchased Asian airports. 1. What a bummer. Won't be seeing this sight from the end of 34 at YMML in the future. From what I read SQ are only using A330s and 777 out of Melbourne now. 2. Just left Chek Lap Kok for Haikou.   13. .......from my old desks. Santa has come early this year and brought me a couple of new desks for me to sit at. So one last sortie and get ready for the change. 1.   14. A couple of scenic flights here in Australia with scenery from the OZx site. The first flight is at Kargoolie in Western Australia. The Fimiston Open Pit gold mine is the largest open cut in Australia. It is also known as the Super Pit. 3.5km long by 1.5km wide and 570metres deep it produces 28 tonnes of gold each year. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.   16. Someone mentioned the other day about the default CRJ700 which I had never flown. Quite happy flying the FSX default 738 and 744 so I looked up to see if there were any suitable liveries for Australia. Found a couple and took to the skies. 1.   17. Not wanting to leave out the default 744 this Thai aircraft is heading out of Ant's Brisbane. Was hoping to visit Thailand for a few weeks this year but other things got in the way. Just hope I get there in 2016. 1. 2. 3. 4.
  18. East Sale Airbase is where the RAAF's Roulette aerobatic team are based. One of their PC-9 aircraft is going to do an early morning flight from YMES. 1.   19. I saw some screenies of the IRIS PC-9 earlier today. As there were several RAAF versions along with the fact it was reported to be a damned good plane and it was on sale I decided to buy it.   20. Mr Caaront asked earlier today about what was most important when we chose an aircraft. Well Milton Schupe's beautiful AC 520 is right up my street. You can get in and fly without too many hassles. I have some A2A aircraft which are probably the best GA planes out there. I enjoy flying them but I get equal enjoyment out of this freeware.   21. ....Mountains should beware of Mosquitos. Installed the Wonderful Mosquito from the CBFS site the other day. Magnificent freeware aircraft again.   22. It is many years since Ansett folded but fans of the airline are lucky that they still can fly in FSX. Here one of their 747s is leaving Darwin for an unknown Asian destination. This one makes a beautiful noise fitted with new engines care of Turbine Sound Studios. 1. 2. This seems to happen may times. I don't bother with ATC and will start a flight at the active runway as per the start menu. Many times though I will encounter conflicting traffic as the SAAB here. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9.   24. First flight in the Virtavia Neptune after installing it into FSX. Tried it with the EMT in P3Dv2.4 but a few gremlins so have not used it for months. Anyway now it works fine in FSX and with the TW Sound set added it is just right. So here is the near miss bit. 1. Leaving Brisbane and over Moreton Bay in very low cloud when something flashed over the cockpit. Looked outside and this plane had nearly collected us. 2. A minute later we are turning to follow the coast and there he is again on the horizon just behind the wing. Better scarper before he buzzes us again. 3. Now the KISS bit. N
  25. After 9 months of hard physical work we have finally finished packing fruit where I work. Just started about 3 week holiday? So where am I off to. 1. Just under the nose of the 757 is Mooroopna, yes I am spending time at home as there is plenty to do. 2. My feelings about 3 weeks rest are shown in the last 3 letters of the registration.
