  1. A few shots from the week ends flying so far. Despite my plans being thrown into disarray yesterday morning with an unexpected 4 1/2 hour trip to Melbourne and back I have managed to get some great flying time in. Still some more time today but there will be disruptions again this afternoon. 1. Flying from Amori, Honshu Japan. 2. 3. No need to tell anyone where this is. This week ends purchase. 4. Ok it is the Gemmill Sandhills in Mooroopna 5. Back into the 207 at Bunbury WA. 6. 7. Taking off from Jomalig Island in the Philippines. 8. 9. Finally San Carlos. 10. Hop
  2. Getting so hard to put this plane in the Hangar and fly in something else. This flight is from Invercargill to Queenstown in the South Island. Dawn is breaking as we depart Invercargill. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17 18. Hope you enjoyed these shots.
  3. The third part of my flight out of YMML now takes us over Bass Strait and as Gerold rightly said onto Launceston. 23. 24. Land in sight. We will fly down the Tamar River to Launceston. 25. 26.   5. Just mucking around with the Virtualcol Dash8 Q400 before bedtime. Will have to do some serious flying tomorrow which means some perusal of the manuals. Looking at some of the North American liveries and one imposter which is very dear to me. 1. 2. I was changing the aircraft in flight to the different liveries. What I didn't realise was that after each change the engines flamed out and the restarted after a few seconds. So the Horizon plane had no time to restart before sinking onto the ground.   10. TeeCee was asking about the Flight Replica Heron in another post this morning so I have done a series of shots depicting several of the liveries available. The shots were taken around YMLT Launceston and are in no particular order( Got plenty to do before I go out in an hour). Hope you like these, it is a wonderful plane to fly and I am eagerly waiting for the Dove to appear.
  11. What a day it has been. Very pleased with the pending release of the deHavilland Dove, great news. Decided to buy San Carlos and was thoroughly enjoying it when I decided to check my mail box.   12. The next instalment of my Tasmanian flight. We are now in the South East corner and another short flight of around 20 miles from Sandfly to Bruny Island. 1. Trouble at Sandfly airstrip even before we start. Looks like the lady has just clocked the bloke around the ear for something he has said. Judging by her stance he is about to get another one.   14. The next post in my flight around Tasmania takes us from Lagoon Bay to Sandfly just to the south west of Hobart. 1. Saying "Gooday" to a few of the locals. 2. 3.   17. Lets go back to the 3rd January. I sat having lunch and watching Rick Stein on the TV, may have been his Mediterranean Escape. He was in Spain and passing through the area of Extramadura. So this prompted me to go and have a look. 1. We start our trip from Badajoz. Extramadura has a population of 1.1 million which is only 2.3% of the Spanish population. 2.   18. Have not flown in Norway for a while so it is pin in the map time. ENDO Dokka Thomlevold was the chosen departure point and for once some nice winter weather. Another one of these quick last flight of the day before bed time! 1. Take off in the Nodsinni locality. 2. Flying up the valley with the Etna River below. 3. Now over the River Dokka. 4.   19. The next instalment of my round Tasmania flight is from Jericho to the SW corner at Lagoon Bay. This flight is a longer one at around 50 miles, with the sight of the sea for the first time since leaving Devonport. 1. A change of planes again as we leave Jericho. 2. Getting used to the more powerful 206 as we pass over Lake Tiberias 3. Enjoying the magnificent scenery near Colebrook. 4. Approaching Richmond and Frederick Henry Bay. 5.   20. Time to leave Woodbury and head south along the Midland Hwy to Jericho. Another short trip of 25km. 1. Saying goodbye to Woodbury. 2. There is the Midland Highway but I think I have overshot the strip. 3. Heading back and there it is behind the hill. 4. Another nice flat strip. 5. Turning into the wind. 6. 7.   21. Another flight in Australia this time from Townsville to Palm Island. An early morning flight so it isn't too sunny. 1. Leaving Townsville with Mount Stuart in the distance. 2. Over Cleveland Bay. 3. Herald and Rattlesnake Islands. Don't have Rattlesnakes in Oz but there were a few Triumph Heralds! 4. Acheron Island 5. Havanah Island with Great Palm Island on the horizon. 6. Not much suitable land to build an airport here. 7. Palm Island town. 8. White knuckle time. 9. Watch out for the yacht and the trees. 10.   23. Here is one from the vaults. After my short hops around Tasmania this flight is 250km from Babo to Nabire WABI. A pleasant flight from West Papua to Papua. 1. Leaving Babo 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Not much info for these shots but this mountain is Peganungan Wondiwoi in Taman National Teluk Cenderawasih. 7. The mountainous island is Pulau Anggrameos. 8. Over Teluk Cenderawasih which is Indonesias largest marine park. 9. Coming in to land at Nabire WASO 10. Just in time before the rain starts.
  24. Cannot find much about Woodbury Tasmania except it has a gliding club. The Airstrip is very easy to find though thanks to it being surrounded by irrigation circles.   25. The next part of my zig zag flight around Tasmania takes us from Cradle Mountain to Mount King William III. This is the first time I have flown low level around this part of Tas but the scenery is incredible. Warning this is a big set of 19 shots. 1. 2. Cradle Mountain dead ahead 3.
