Dang it's tough to manage a Jug on landing at this airstrip! No matter which way I approach it, I lose sight...... How Green Was My Valley: Harder to avoid flying into a mountain with a P-47 than you'd think! The bridge. The bridge is a clue. Plus my compass. I think. Oh well, not quite; at least there was a nice field nearby to bump down. It's hard to regain speed and altitude when you're running low on fuel and your engine is at risk of overheating! Time to stop in and ask the farmer's daughter for some pudding! Steve

So, today's fun: an IFR flight from Tipella (CBB7, Freeware FTX) to CYVR (PNW), in A2A Simulations' new C172. Set the plane up right, for grass strip tires, tied down at the Fuel Box (in this case, next to the Propane Tanks; exciting!), just myself and 24lbs of fuel and 20lbs of luggage. Flight Plan simply built in FSX. VOR on the way 112.40, 368 ADB if I needed to execute a manual approach. No GPS, that's cheating! Waited to get assigned runway during final approach. The trip is exciting because you take off from a barely long-enough grass strip, over the trees, and it's difficult

My Spitfire in her custom scheme sitting on the tarmac of Arlington Airport KAWO in Washington. On my way from KORS to Ketchikan she blew some cylinders and I made it safely here.

I left Jackson hole and flew over the Grand Teton range in by B-17, which by the way is painted in my Grandfather's exact colors, and landed in Driggs, Idaho. Driggs is where Harrison Ford is very active with the EAA. 'SHADE' is being used.
