  1. +1 to above. I agree with all the above. I too think the True earth for xp is the best. Not even MSFS can compete with that. The visuals truly are vastly superior. I remember reading even JV had stated that no other sim can handle the vast orthos as good as XP. And after Vulkan update XP 11 is the most smoothly running sim I have ever experienced. The more I use xp the more I like it. Also the new color technology used in TE products like Florida are truly something special.

  2. Adding to this. There is a niche tool at xplane.org called xToolBox that creates not only symbolic links but also junctions and shortcuts. Its a pay ware but the price is very reasonable. After using this tool I have stopped creating symbolic by going to command prompt manually. I use this tool to create all sorts of links for p3d, xplane, msfs anything basically as its not feasible to keep managing these symbolic links for multiple sceneries manually.

    Thanks

  3. +1 from me.

I love Orbx due to the fact of the attention given to areas beyond just the airport. Frankly speaking I care much less about the airport itself. Its always beyond the airport where in the real VFR comes into play and this is Orbx's strong point which includes POIs. I am not sure why all developers are hung up on producing airports for MSFS as barring a few important international airports which I understand are necessary.

If a developer only offers airport and nothing in the vicinity then I make sure not to buy the product. As there is the question of after flying from the airport then what?

ORBXs London landmarks, now upcoming Sydney cityscapes as will as all True Earth products all full of POIs and great texturing. I guess that's also one of the reasons why they are such great products.

Hence Ken your hard work on POIs is very much appreciated and customers like me sure do appreciate all the work gone in there. Therefore request Orbx team to please have more of  Points of interest because that is the one thing that is very important to customers like me.

Also I am completely disappointed by MSFS photogrammetry. If you fly close to  photogrammetry cities, the entire city looks as if it has been hit by a nuclear bomb. Yes there is no other way to describe it. The photogrammetry cities no way are nearly looking like real life. The buildings have to look crisp and clear which they are nowhere near to it currently. That's why in MSFS, I prefer synthetic rather than photogrammetry cities since its so much better. At current situation I feel photogrammetry is a gimmick and is not at all up to the mark. Its a big disappointment really. This is also one of the reasons I stick to Orbx True Earth products as they as so crisp and clear and an absolute joy to fly.

Anyone else have a bug with the autopilot when you get out of active pause the plane does a nose dive?  Just wondering fi any of you found a way to fix that.
Otherwise, for now, i have to remember to disengage autopilot, snap the shot, and go back in. quite pesky!

    Hope you enjoyed the shots!

Yes same bug with me too. It's a bug in MSFS and needs to be rectified. As you mentioned, disengage autopilot before active pause is the only work around solution now. Also great shots John!!

Sorry  but you sound really entitled....."please get it done"  "if this does not get sorted"......come on its week 1 and I'm sure there are technicalities behind it to prevent just "getting it done".  Just buy the product from where you see fit and get on with it!  You always have the choice of NOT buying it at all save yourself some stress.

So sorry if I sounded that way. I understand the technicalities. Now coming as to why I was asking for this. For me it makes sense to buy via market place as I can buy paying my currency. Not all customers can pay in AUD. Every time I pay in AUD, I am charged almost 4% as foreign transaction charges. Yes every single time. For one or two or even 5 products its ok. But add on that to multiple purchases over the year and that becomes really expensive.

Also this foreign transaction charges does not goto Orbx not does it benefit me. I would be happy atleast if the money goes to Orbx, but it does not.

So , for customers like us market place makes a lot of sense. Its a whole lot cheaper to buy in my own currency.

So I hope you understand, its not a simple matter of "Just buy the product from where you see fit and get on with it!" .  I really wish it was that simple but its not.

But due to the technicalities, at the end as an individual customer I am going to be impacted. I understand that up until now, I had no choice, but with market place coming in, I was more hopeful. But honestly, it was just me ranting out my disappointment.

    Thanks.

  7. Hello,

This is regarding Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Flight Model. When I fly around in normal stable flight, cruise mode the plane keeps bouncing up and down, sometimes even sideways.

This is the most evident in External View mode. Not so much in Cockpit view mode. What I am trying to get at is I do not experience a smooth flight like I do in P3D or Xplane.

No matter what I try or which ever plane I fly, its there. Even in autopilot mode. In external view the bouncing is always there. Even in clear sky's and calm weather.

Its totally frustrating and just takes too much effort to keep controlling the plane, so much so that it takes away the joy of flying.

If anyone has a fix for this please do let me know.

    Thanks.

Can MS 2020 be run over a WiFi internet connection?

    Dave

    Hello,

Since the time I started using MSFS I have been playing it over wifi connection only and it runs absolutely fine. Just make sure incase your modem has two channels you choose 5GHz connection and are close to your modem

  9. Ok so what I was trying to say is let's say I purchase an airpot in marketplace. Now assume that Orbx is giving some discount on the purchase for the same airport for other sims, just like it offers a 40% discount on airports purchased in p3d or xplane 11.

Now in that case in future just because I purchased a product in marketplace and central does not recognise it I will not get that discount. Inspite of purchasing the product. So in a way, now I am forced to purchase only via central. Hope I was able to explain a bit better what I was trying to say.

  10. 3 minutes ago, Jon Clarke said:

Possibly yes but at the moment it is not. Orbx is independent from Microsoft MSFS Marketplace and as such provides the additional facilities and installation tools for its own products. I would have thought that it may be possible for the 2 retail places to communicate

Case in point and I agree. I do tend to purchase products via marketplace now. I pay the asking price for the product in marketplace as well. If this is now not synced to central its an issue because all the future discounts for my purchases etc will not be applicable just because central does not recognize my purchase.

In that case why offer customers two places to buy the product as customers purchasing via market place would miss out in spite of valid purchases.

Orbx needs to come out with a strategy to treat all purchases from the same company as common. Yes, I read in the forums, if it requires a complete overhaul of central to communicate with marketplace, please get it done otherwise don't offer the same product in 2 different places.

If this does not get sorted out early I do see that there could see that some customers including myself would be completely unhappy just because its not purchased via central.
