    Hello,

    I've read in another thread,

that replacing the Global BASE folder with that from an working installation can fix the problem.

I'm wondering if it is possible that you can provide a folder from a working installation, trying to

    fix the problem.

    Regards

    Michael

    Hi HHM,

So here's the thing I did that worked for me. Like you I too installed the global base from Orbx site for P3DV5 and then went through some iterations of misplaced autogen. But luckily for me since hotfix keeps on coming for P3DV5 it presented an opportunity for me to try to fix the issue again since I was going to reinstall P3DV5 anyway due to hot fix.

In a last desperate attempt I copied the global base from my p3dv4 installation and put into P3DV5. And it worked. But here's the catch. You should not run verify files on the global base you have copied from p3dv4 installation to P3DV5. If you do that then again you will have misplaced autogen. You can run sync sim from ftx central but you should not run verify files from central.

I can share my P3DV4 global base installation. It's around 3.7 gigs in size. Do you have any cloud share where I can drop it?

  2. For me "display freezes at regular interval when looking around or flying around. These pauses could be a fraction of a second or longer up to 10 seconds. In the latter case the whole sim seem to be hanged up for a short while."

Here are the things I tried and to an extent has mitigated the issue (please note to an extent only but not completely though). I could be wrong  but just trying to help incase this works for you.

    1. I have tried this solution mentioned in the P3D forums: http://prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138374&start=15

The solution mentioned in where you need to download Rivatuner Statistics server v 7.2.3 and set it up.

All the steps to setup the Rivatuner and setup are mentioned along with the screenshot. This somehow seems to help.

Please also make sure you follow the advise at the last which states "Make sure the switch is set to "start with windows". Then restart the PC. Start p3D, set it to "unlocked fps" and have a perfectly smooth sim, of course only if the settings aren't set in a way that cause stutter in anyway"

    2. The second thing I tried is "I somehow reduced my stuttering problems by turning off all of the roads/railroads/etc in Orbx Vector. Most of the rest of the Vector features are disabled"

    3. I reduced my Autogen Vegetation Density and Autogen Building Density down by one notch.

Hope this helps someone and if anyone could try the same and give some feedback it would be great!

  3. Hello All,

I too concur with what is being stated above. "display freezes at regular interval when looking around or flying around. These pauses could be a fraction of a second or longer up to 10 seconds. In the latter case the whole sim seem to be hanged up for a short while." The only difference here is that I am not using TrackIr but just nor mal panning around the scenery causes this and is visibly more in P3D V5.1 than it was in P3D V5.0

Here are the things I tried and to an extent has mitigated the issue (please note to an extent only but not completely though). I also, I could be wrong and some of you might have already tried this but just trying to help incase this works for you.

  4. Well said Scott. Each sim has its own positives. I too am loving MSFS for a few things and I also love XP11 and p3d for a few add-ons.

My current sims: P3DV5, V4.5, XP11 and MSFS. I plan to keep all of them for a long time to come as each sim have thier own positives to offer.

I uninstalled fsx though as I could not live with pop up autogen any more. And one annoying issue I have with P3D even with V5 is terrain shifting that happens especially in mountainous regions due to high quality mesh or setting mesh to 1cm. I am not sure when that will get addressed or if it ever will.
