  1. I think for most default airports in P3D you can only rely on one thing and that is a strip on the ground looking like a runway. The rest, like the coast line, is just a line between ground and ocean. I many times think to myself - if the coastline around South Africa has sooooooooooo many mistakes / faults then surely it must be true for the rest of the world. It's probably something that P3D inherited from FSX and never bothered to fix it.
  2. Thank you Nick ... it seems that it is either NO mesh (which means no Table Mountain in my hometown or Outeniqua Mountains where my parents live in George) ... or mesh with vector and then endless problems with airports. [sigh] PS: ... and there is no way to enable VECTOR only for Africa ...?
  3. It's in South Africa between George (FAGG) and Port Elizabeth (FAPE) ... Thank you Nick
  4. I've checked and no such file in that folder ...
  5. I can disable both Orbx's Mesh and FS Global Ultimate's Mesh and the displaced water elevation is still there. The only way to get rid of it is to uninstall Orbx's Africa_LC and only use FS Global Ultimate 2020. That's what's so sad about the whole issue ...
  6. Ai ai ... it's really a struggle and for a lot of other reasons I don't want to install Vector again because I have endless problems with some airports ... I've now disabled Orbx's Africa Mesh as well as FS Global Ultimate 2020 Africa Mesh and still the hills and holes stand out like pimples on a beauty queen's face. Why is this only over Africa and South America and nowhere in your North America / Canada, Europe, or New Zealand landclass? [HUGE SIGH of despair] Africa is my home continent and as a real pilot I have many many hours flying across this vast continent and
  7. Good news ... it has been fixed. I've uninstalled ESSA and deleted every single trace of an ESSA file on my hard drive including everything in SODE Restart computer and reinstalled and voilà ... Thank you for your patience and help.
  8. Nope ... And I've made sure there are no ESSA files in **AppData\Roaming\Virtuali\GSX\ The only two are in c:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Orbx\FTX_GLOBAL\FTX_AA_ESSA\Scenery\ They are essa-gsx.ini and essa-gsx-statics.ini respectively.
  9. I've disabled all the files you've suggested and still double VDGS boxes. Only the left one works ... don't mind the ERROR because I suspect it's because Maule is parked in front of it. I've checked in the SODE folder [c:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\SimObjects\orbx_essa\] and everything seems to be what and where it should with the Model.Gate* folders. In the c:\ProgramData\12bPilot\SODE\xml\ folder are two files - ORBX_ESSA_SODE.xml and ORBX_ESSA_VDGS.xml I don't think I should rename these ....??
  10. That's the one I'm referring to who suggested to turn that one file '.off' ... will try your above mentioned files and see what happens. Thanks for the response.
  11. WHY oh why ...? I've selected the SODE VDGS version in settings ... it's double Had to uninstall reinstall ESSA because of flickering roofs ... it's still double Saw a forum post suggesting: "Head to FTX_AA_ESSA/Scenery-folder and change ESSA_LIB_PLC_Extras_Guidance.bgl to .off "... and once again, it's still double Any suggestions, recommendations, fix, tweak, or alternative ...?
  12. Thank you thank you THANK YOU Stewart ... THE FIX: Go to: c:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Orbx\FTX_NA\FTX_NA_NCA06_CVX\scenery\ Find: cvx_FTX_NCA_water_1518w_SanFrancisco_summer.BGL If you see the file with the extension: disabled-by-KSTS then delete this extension so that it is only cvx_FTX_NCA_water_1518w_SanFrancisco_summer.BGL For some or the other reason KSTS renamed the above mentioned file and hence the water discrepancy. Thank you Stewart! Also thanks Nick for your patience with this simmer. JOY TO THE WORLD ...... ♥
  13. I found the culprit ... FTX_NA_NCA05_SCENERY First I deselected ALL Europe, Asia, NZ, and Africa scenery and the Ocean Wasteland was still there Then I deselected ALL LC Scenery (Africa, North and South America) and still the persistent Ocean Wasteland Then I deselected FTX_NA_NCA05_SCENERY / CVX / MESH / CUSTOM and voila, the Ocean was back normal Now the million dollar question: WHY?? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the FTX_NA_NCA05_SCENERY with the same result. What could there be in this set of Northern California files that changes the Ocean?
  14. UK / Europe Ocean is perfect Africa / Cape Town Ocean is perfect [forgive the two pimples, it seems with the Africa_LC they are all over the place] It's only the Pacific Ocean off the west coast of US that has turned into a wasteland
