  1. Yes, but what I described is the situation right after a fresh install. I've tested it again (for LOWI and SoCal): uninstall, check that all files are really gone, reinstall - same behavior.

Operating system: Windows 10 Home 1903 64-bit Simulator: Prepar3D v4.5 HF1 Central version: Orbx Central 4.0.6 Since the most important issues have been resolved now, here are some minor things that might be worth looking at. In the NZWR Whangarei Airport Control Panel all options are toggle options where only one option per group can be checked. Since these are all independent options, shouldn't they be non-toggle options so that each item can be checked/unchecked separately? In the 11S Sekiu Airport Control Panel there are 3 options for "3D Grass" that can be checked or unchecked individually. Shouldn't this be a toggle option where you can choose only one of them (like for example in 2W3 Swanson)? In the FTX Southern California Control Panel there is an option for "Cranes, ships, containers in Long Beach and San Diego harbors". When I check this option and click "Save Changes", the option is unchecked again when opening the Control Panel the next time. In the LOWI Innsbruck Airport Control Panel there is an option for "Hold-Short Stop-Bar Lights". None of the toggle options are checked. If I select any one and hit "Save Changes", they're both unchecked again when opening the Control Panel the next time. EGFF Cardiff Airport comes with EU Wales, but is listed as a separate Airport (like it was in FTX Central). It is not possible to configure the Airport, because on the Airport page there is only the option to Install it (produces the error "The requested resource was not found."). Looks like Orbx Central doesn't detect that EGFF is already installed via EU Wales. If you have YSCB Canberra airport and Canberra Cityscape installed you have to disable some files in the YSCB scenery folder manually, see here: This needs to be done after every update or verify files. Wouldn't it make more sense to add an option to the Control Panel to enable/disable the files as needed? I.e. the same way as it is done with YBCG Gold Coast, where you can select "FTX Australia Mode" or "CityScene Mode" in the Control Panel. With EDCG Rugen Airport, there are two files installed in FTX_AA_EDCG\scenery, EDCG_objlib.BGL and EDCG_objlib_P3D.BGL. One is for FSX, and the other for P3D. But they shouldn't be both there since this causes issues, see here: Wouldn't it make more sense if the installation process in Orbx Central would take care of such things?

  6. This was part of the overall memory optimizations LM made with P3D v3, and more of a redesign than a fix. FSX was just not designed to free up memory as thoroughly as P3D does now.
  7. Hi Kim, I don't think it works like this. It is not actually a bug that FSX is running out of memory, it is just that certain features simply need their certain amount of memory. And as a 32-bit application, the maximum amount of (virtual) memory is 4 GB. That's all by design, and not due to an error that can be fixed as such. P3D did start with the same code as FSX, and P3D v1 had the same memory behaviour as FSX. During the course of development (we're now at version 3.4) LM has rewritten much of the code and especially optimized memory consumption with v3, so you can load more stuff into the sim now. But still, if you try to use more than 4 GB of (virtual) memory, you run out of memory also with P3D v3. That means the "fix" Orbx would have to provide would be to remove the code for FSX/FSXSE more or less completely and replace it with P3D v3. If you are happy to pay for such a fix, why not simply buy a copy of P3D (or perhaps better: wait for the upcoming P3D v4)? That would be the most consequential "fix" available.

  10. The tick box in the Vector control panel is there to make Vector compatible with Australia SP4. Without checking this box you will see some duplicate objects (roads, bridges, ...) in Australia when you have both FTX Vector and FTX Australia installed.
  11. I have installed the Win10 anniversary update about a month ago, and have absolutely no issues with it.
  12. As far as I know ORBX hasn't even confirmed that they will release their products for the new DTG sim. I suppose they will, like everyone else, wait and see what DTG comes up with before committing any investment to it. And considering the time it took for the move from Prepar3D v2 to v3, you most likely won't see all of the ORBX products being available for the DTG sim on day one. But then, who knows what's all going on behind the curtains?
