  1. Hi jack, This is pretty much a private strip. The owner of the one home that is there had a 2 engine seaplane and so he build the water rwy. I think he'd passed away by the time I got there but the family still made sure it stayed full of water, I suppose for others to use. It makes a cool small airport whether using the grass or water runways. I only ran across 1 other combo grass and water airport and that was in Oregon.
  2. Hi again, On the day I took the photos for 2WA1 I also did photos for WA45 which I think is part of the same package, but even the default PNW version looks quite good. What is unique about WA45 it includes a WATER rwy, and this on the side of a hill, overlooking Discovery Bay. I like to never figured out how to get there to take the photos as the road to it is a small rather obscure dirt road (see GE). Cheers, Neil
  3. Hi Guys, I did the photos for Diamond Point, 2WA1. It's quite a place. I got to talk with several folks in residence and they seemed to love it. You can see water on 3 sides and the weather is great (most of the time). I'm glad you enjoy the airport. Cheers, Neil
  4. HiBailout7734, I added KTRL to my ongoing list but KSUN has been done as part of the CRM region. Cheers, Neil
  5. Hi Jaderaso, I have done fixes for some of the "misfit" SA airports that have been spotted and I can add these. Please provide the ICAO's for the two airports you mentioned here (keep's me from guessing). You can do the fixing if you want, it requires a program like Airport Design Editor (ADE) but I'll be happy to do it. Cheers, Neil
  6. Hi guys, thank you for the thank you It is always Larry's and my hope that these will be appreciated. Pack 31 had a number of larger airports in it which I hope to continue with the next pack and all of them come from the list of airports that were requested by users like you. I do read all the nice comments, I just don't answer every one. Cheers, Neil
  7. Hi Tim, B77X I've noted this thread and looked up our version of it. Two taxiways have been extended (H and R) to rwy 7R-25L but other than that it looks like our taxiways are correctly labeled. A bigger issue is that two major rwys, 6R-24L and 6L and 24R have been renamed to 7R-25L and 7L and 25 R. I've made these changes on our master ADE file for PANC ( I have access to the PANC PDF chart). I'll check to see where we want to go from here. Interesting to see that our version is preferred over Aerosofts, no matter what the reason. Hey Tim, good to hear from you... Cheers, Neil
  8. Hi Roberto, I'm assuming you have Vector, if you don't that would be a problem. Also you should download/install the free SA mesh that Ed mentioned as part of his product announcement. I have Vector, OLC_SA and the mesh mentioned above. I see SLTJ at 6093 feet elevation (due to the elevation correction that is part of Vector) but at a somewhat wrong location that allows a main road to cross over it. I can easily correct the airport location but I'm somewhat reluctant to change the airport altitude as it's been corrected by Vector already. Cheers, Neil
  9. Hi guy's, I've noted the latest airports mentioned here in my list of airport suggestions but patience, the next group won't be out until Aug at earliest. Cheers, Neil
  10. Neil again, Actually you don't have to scroll through them all. Click the "Airport Elevation Corrections" tab and in the box under the "AEC IS ENABLED FOR:" type in the ICAO for the airport you want to disable, It will highlight that ICAO in the list, then click the "Disable" button to the right of it to move it to disabled. You can move over any number of ICAO's before hitting the Apply button. note: DON'T FORGET TO CLICK THE "Apply" button,or nothing will change. Cheers, Neil
  11. Hi Mike, I'll jump in here. If you have Vector installed there is a "FTX Vector Configurator" that shows up as an icon. Vector changes quite a few airport elevations for a separate mesh program put out my "Pilot's (I think) and you have to "Disable them" to have the freeware airports at the correct altitude. If you don't have Vector you don't have to worry about that. All freeware airports use default FSX altitudes. Cheers, Neil
  12. Sorry H3pilot, This thread is for freeware airports outside of ORBX regions. KNZY looks better than most airports as it has a PR background. Cheers, Neil
  13. Hi there, back to Jack again, That last shot is taken from the road leading from the east tarmac, not the taxiway, note the relationship of the buildings to the dip in the mountains behind them. That being said I can't do any more than ADE will let me. If I've "reset the draw flags" there is nothing more ADE will let me do, it's an idiosyncrasy with P3D that I can't fix, I'm sorry. Back to doing airports.... Cheers, Neil
  14. Hi again, Everything looks fine in your last shots. Please note that is a road rather than a taxiway, see attached GE screenshot, one of two I used to accurately layout the airport. Cheers, Neil
  15. Hmmm....wierd For the new files I "reset the draw flags" and lowered the flatten by .05. I can't imagine why lowering the flatten by that small amount would make a difference but here is the original again, try it. You had active all that is needed, no other files are necessary. Did you have this LC "morphing" before you changed to my newer files? I did check and I have no LC outside the outlines of the airport. Cheers, Neil ADE_FTX_FTXG_KELY_CVX.bgl
  16. Hi Jack, Since I do all my airports in FSX I take great pains to "reset all draw flags" so all the taxiways show up when using P3D. I checked all the taxiways at KELY and they all look to be reset so I'm not sure where your issue comes from. I'll attach a recompiled KELY and please check to see if you still have that issue. Replace the files of the same name in your ORBX/FTX_GLOBAL/FTX_FTXG_AIRPORTS/Scenery folder. Anyone else having this issue? Cheers, Neil ADE_FTX_FTXG_KELY.BGL ADE_FTX_FTXG_KELY_CVX.bgl
  17. Hi Jack, Ed adds each new pack as an update to the basepack so just redownload the whole basepack and you'll get the new airports. Cheers, Neil
  18. Hi Handie, Yes, these should all work OK, although there may be a few with strange LC patches since you don't have Open NA LC. None of these are duplicates of payware airports and none from "region" areas. Cheers, Neil
  19. Hi johnfromoz, At JV's request I'm currently doing ALL Aussie airports for an update that will eventually be released, just not soon as there are a LOT of airports. You're the 2nd person who's requested airports that are already done as freeware. PAUN, CYQT and CYZF are all currently released freeware airports. Cheers, Neil
  20. Hi Dale, KBGR was done as a freeware airport quite awhile ago, no point in doing it again. Cheers, Neil
  21. Thanks Rob, Rob is my beta tester, he gets to see these before anybody else!! Cheers, Neil
  22. Great shots. I watch the real Dreamlifters pass over our house almost daily and you can't believe how huge they look. I live a few miles south, under of the flight path of them when arriving/leaving Paine Field. Cheers, Neil
  23. Hi Scott, Yes, you're correct, KALS, Alamoso is in CO. Probably confused it with Los Alamos which is in NM. Cheers, Neil
  24. Hi Folks, FYI: I've sent in Freeware Pack 30 which should be released within a few days. It includes 4 airports by new contributor Chris Britton, 6 from regular contributor Larry Isenor including a nice one in South America, SABE, Jorge Newbery Aeroparque, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Most of mine are larger, high altitude airports in the Rockies to help on those long cross country trips. I hope you enjoy these. Cheers, Neil Pack 30.txt
  25. Hi Guys, FYI, PACD, PADU and PAKN are all available in the ORBX freeware airports download. I'll add PASD and PAPH to my list of ones to do. Cheers, Neil
