  1. It won't bloody EDIT!! So you've got it twice I'm afraid.
  2. Thanks. We've got a smiths but where I live its got to be the smallest in the country! Never mind. I'm getting it on subscription.
  3. Cheeky sod Lawrence. But I can't tell you what I was doing because if I did I would have to kill you!
  4. Well, just to drop a few more names. While working for Wella (the hair cosmetic people) I accompanied and had conversations with; Lulu, Vidal Sassoon, Raymond (Mr.Teezee weezy), and several other actors, actresses and celebrities who's names escape me now. In the army, while serving Malaya , I also met, err, briefly and standing stiffly to attention, General GeraldTempler He asked me for directions to my unit while sitting in his car. Didn't offer me a lift though!
  5. Thanks Ken I had a look in our local Tesco this morning and they don't have PCPilot which I used to have on subscription but they almost went bust and |I didn't get any more. Glad to hear they've revived it. I've had a look and it looks as if I can get it posted to me on subscription. If that is indeed the case, I'll have another go. Although I read avidly using my Paperwhite I don't like reading from a computer. I think I'm a bit strange!! Anyway, nice to hear from you again. All the best. John
  6. 'Broads. Although in my case I'm not fussy!! I don't mind 'em from anywhere!' Is that from memory Fizelle?
  7. Wish I knew what your were talking about. Anyway, congratulations seem the order of the day, so I wish you all the best with your BAUD stuff Fizelle whatever it is.
  8. Can anyone please recommend one please. Needs to be available in UK.
  9. Holidays and service don't count Fizelle. I notice only Olderndirt replied to the question. What are all you others hiding?
  10. Jeapers! Your experiences as boys were virtually identical to mine; conkers, marbles etc. I'm sure you all weren't where you are now! How on earth did you finally end up living half way round the world both ways? I think its only Fizelle and me that seem to be 'stay at home Brits. That is apart from holidays and service of course.
  11. I suppose everyone's away on their holidays. EXCEPT ME! And I'm bored. Come on someone. Write something. Even if its Rodger flogging his new book!
  12. Watching 'The Open' in Ireland at the moment. The last day seems to be building up interestingly with my old mate Justin Rose still in contention....just! I must be honest and say that getting old is full of benefits but not being able to play is not one of them. I had a swing with a borrowed club from the pro-shop the other day and it damn near pulled me over. I had to stagger into the shop for a sit down before I fell. The Pro's were laughing their socks off. I told the to wait until they were in their eighties, I'll be laughing then! I realised later I certainly won't be!
  13. Yep. And you've got partners helping! Good wishes with your new P3Dv4 Rodger. I've found it much better than FSX. No where near the number of hang-ups, slow downs and general downright awkwardness of FSX.
  14. Here's one I hadn't heard before; NEW HOME WANTED !!!!! Lexi, she’s an 8 week-old German Shepherd puppy, I bought Lexi as a surprise for my wife but it turns out she is allergic to dogs so I am now urgently looking to find her a new home. She is 35 years old, a beautiful and caring woman who drives, is a great cook, good with kids and keeps a clean house Someone please take her as she's doing my nut in! Edited yo remove the language. I suspect you can use your imagination for that.
  15. Yes, I've just changed our bank because the bank we had closed down and wanted us to either travel 30 miles or go to the Post Office. I told them, well, I had better not say and have opened an account with another banks who have been very welcoming but we're now drowning in paper from them! Talk about a performance. I wouldn't have thought we had enough to pay for it all.
  16. I want to meet the lady in the dress that has Idaho on the back
  17. Oh dear. If I ever get to America, I'll make sure I'm twenty years old and settle in Idaho!
  18. I like Torquay. My wife and I have had quite a few holidays there over the years. Now we live in Minehead. That started simply because of my fascination with 'Lorna Doone' and I wanted to follow the story and see the places mentioned in it.. I'm glad to say that the Doone Valley and other places remain largely unchanged and are still a delight to visit. For reading, I'm still hooked on 'Westerns'. The people who populated the American west in the late 1800's were strong and I really admire their resilience, especially the women folk.
  19. Hm. My first was in 1947 in a field with a girlfriend who I found out later was anybody's. It didn't go well. It was my wife who really educated me. Not because of her experience so much as her patience.
  20. There are no new posts to look at. Come on chaps, use your imagination. Or, have we all died. If so, and this is what its like, I'm going back!
  21. Just to add my tuppence worth. Rodger is right, Orbx is just about the best company to deal with if you have a problem. All you have to do is get on to the right section and voice your problem and it'll be quickly answered.
  22. Don't you just love 'em? My bank of twenty, thirty years or more sent me a letter that didn't make sense to me. They gave an address at the top pf the letter and a telephone number, so I 'phoned them. Guess what, the girl on the end told me they could not talk to me about it because I wasn't registered for telephone banking and that I should visit my local branch some 30 miles away! I'm now in the process of changing to a bank that has a branch local to me!
  23. That is so old flyingleaf that we told it to one another in school!
