  1. Doug: Never mind... I changed the FSX\scenery\world\scenery .bgl file for KYKM to .off and voila! It worked. I have no clue what I'm doing, but I am not deterred! The man with the net cometh...
  2. Doug: In 09/08/18, in this thread, you had sent caleb1 an elevation adjustment file: ADE_FTX_KYKM_elevation_adjustment.bgl for an elevation issue with KYKM. I have the same issue, and was going to see if the file would fix it, but it no longer will download. Is it still available?
  3. Problem solved! Thank you, Nick...and you, too, Doug. ...and, man, Darrington Airport on top of Base, Vector, and PNW with FS Global mesh...is astoundingly beautiful. Thanks again.
  4. This must be why I'm not a doctor! But, since neither the scenery library in FSX or the scenery.cfg file have any "5, 6, 7, 8" demarcations, how does one know where they are? Sorry for my density. If I might dare ask one more before I embark on this task: in researching the mesh app FS Global 2010 (as recommended in the Vector readme tile), I found that it has now been supplanted by FS Global 2018. Is there any Orbx do or don't advice on the new product? Thank you. This has all be so helpful. I'm sorry to be such a pain, but the Orbx scenery does make such a difference
  5. Thank you, Nick; you’ve been generous with your time. Just let the Orbx Central installer handle the ordering. Duh. Got it; will do. I had intentionally omitted any other software until I get my Orbx properly configured. But, I somehow still made a mess of it. May I ask you, please, to clarify what you meant by the requisite “5, 6, 7 & 8” ordering to which you referred a couple of times previously? Where is that order found, in scenery.cfg, or where? I don’t know about that... and it would appear from your comments that Its something I need to know about. Also, in
  6. I'm sorry; I didn't make myself clear. I take your point, and therefore, unless you say not to do so, I will next wholesale un-install my Orbx scenery and re-install it. When I re-install, I will not used either altered paths or altered filenames. I gotcha. But, what I'm asking is: when I do the re-install, do I just leave the scenery.cfg entries in the order that the Orbx Central installer puts them? Or, after the re-install, do I re-order them in the order as I have done? Also, I've read the manual, but I'm still confused about the Insertion tool within Central. Afte
  7. Oh... well, the path seems incorrect, because I added an intermediary folder just to separate cities, landmarks and airports. FSX finds the airports just fine, and most are the typical detailed, beautiful Orbx work product. But, if it messes-up Central, I'm more than willing to re-do. In fact, unless you reply telling me not to do so, I think I'm going to un-install my Orbx scenery and start anew. When I have Orbx Central re-install, does it re-install in the preferred order, or do I need to arrange the order myself? Or, after install, do I use that "Insertion" tool? A
  8. If you are referring to the file name changes, they are changed not only in scenery.cfg, but on the hard disk, too; so they do match-up. Most sceneries work just fine, but I've found a few with these elevation issues, that probably relate to the incorrect order you reference. I'm assuming you're referencing an incorrect order, anyway.
  9. OMG! Well, goodness! That does make sense, given my problem. How would I correct it? Should I start with a clean scenery.cfg, then use verify for each Orbx scenery?
  10. Here ya go. I tried to arrange it in accord with the order recommendations found at FSX Scenery Library order (Orbx Global) • C-Aviation (c-aviation.net) scenery.cfg
  11. Hi: I am nearing completion of a massive re-do, re-format, re-install from FSX box to SE, and switching from Megascenery to Orbx. I have installed Base, Pacific NW, and Vector. Worked-out conflicts in scenery.cfg, and I think my FSX library order is correct. This is a shot from the Orbx Darrington 1S2 airport. I ran the Vector auto tool, but no-go. Any suggestions... I hope, I hope, I hope... Transaction ID: 5ed6c7e59ee70 Intel i7-8700 CPU @ 3.20GHz, 32GB RAM, NVIDIA GEForce GTX 1070, Win10, FSX:SE
  12. Thank you, Doug. I just downloaded/installed Vector last night. The install did not make any scenery.cfg entries. I un-installed, re-installed, and no errors appeared, but no entries. So, I entered them myself. But, when in FSX:SE I have Vector selected, I appear at the airport with beautiful buildings all around me, but can't move. If I un-select them in the library, its perfect. So, I'm into the manual now figuring-out how Vector works. The readme file says something about "FS Global 2010" being required, but I was just searching for it when I noticed your reply.
  13. Hmmm... Thank you. Looks like I've got some FSX detective work to do today! Thanks.
  14. Mucho gracias! If I may impose on your generosity, I also downloaded Vector last night, and I noticed that it does not appear to be there, either. Do you happen to know whether it should?
  15. I recently installed Trees and Buildings, and noticed that no entry was placed in scenery.cfg. Is that normal?
  16. Ta da! Geronimo! You are Santa Claus, for certain! I'm not gonna jinx it. It's working, and that's good enuf! I was a hair's breath from the dreaded FSX uninstall, clean registry, re-install routine. Thank you, and thank you for sticking with me.
  17. For clarification: In my C:\programdata\Microsoft, there was already an FSX folder. I created a folder named FSX-SE and placed your file into it. So, at the time I tested it (and now), both were there. (In case that makes a difference).
  18. No problem. That is in fact what I did. Didn't resolve the issue. Thank you for your time and expertise, by the way.
  19. Nick: When (above) you said "...create an FSX-SE folder in C:\programdata\Microsoft and put a copy of your scenery library into it..." I did that, but I interpreted "scenery library" to mean the scenery.cfg file. Is that what you wanted? ie, you didn't want me to transfer all my Orbx files to the new folder, right?
  20. I had seen that suggestion in another post, and had already done that, using the attachment in that other post. But, I did it again with today's attachment, just to be certain. No-go. Same error. You asked me to "see if it writes to that scenery file". How do I do that? If it helps diagnostically, my SE install is a new one. The only difference between your scenery.cfg and the one I had was that mine had an Orbx entry for Friday Harbor, which is, I guess complimentary from Steam. Otherwise, they appear identical.
  21. Here you go. Sorry to be such a pain, but I have over 40 Orbx titles, and I love 'em! central.log
  22. The tab at the top says FSX: Steam Edition. When I click the drop-down, it offers 2020, as well.
  23. I went into the registry, and in both HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, and HKEY_CURRENT_USER the path is correct.
