  2. As the dust continues to settle, we would like to take the time to provide you with a little update. Microsoft Flight Simulator represents a new era in flight simming with an entirely new game engine and we at Orbx are looking forward to supporting it with new and improved addons. We have been involved with many of our other 3rd party colleagues, and given our feedback to Asobo on the SDK and will continue to do that, so we all have a feature rich toolset to help us deliver more great content. As you have seen with our MSFS launch products, we started with some of our n

  3. Hot on the heels of his highly popular Orcas Island, developer Andreas Hegi brings us the the next charming airfield in his Pacific Northwest series for Microsoft Flight Simulator - Darrington Municipal Airport! Located in the heart of the North Cascade Mountains in Washington State, Darrington is located a short hop from other well-known small-field destinations such as Orcas, Anacortes and Concrete. Serving Snohomish County and dwarfed by the shadow of the mighty Whitehorse Mountain, this airfield is set in the heart of picturesque Darrington village on the confluence of two riv

  4. We want to let you know that we are aware of an issue in the Landmarks London City Pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator. This issue affects a small number of the 400+ landmarks available, where they do not match up with the quality of those already in-sim. A fix this is already in development, and will be made available very soon through Orbx Central, and - as soon as it is approved - in the Microsoft Flight Simulator in-sim Marketplace. We will inform you when this update is available on the Orbx Facebook and Twitter channels. Thanks all for y

  6. Hello, like so many of the uninformed and imaginative claims made before the details were released, that one turned out to be not the case. That was why I put so much effort into keeping the invention and gossip out of the Orbx forums, with the intention that in these forums at least, customers could read just the facts released by the developers.

  7. We are delighted to announce our first all-new airport product for Microsoft Flight Simulator - Bryce Canyon Airport! Acclaimed developer Ken Hall brings his developing flair to this historic airfield, located in the dramatic canyon hinterlands of Southern Utah. Serving the famous national park of the same name, Bryce Canyon is a high-altitude airport that hosts GA and corporate flights from across the United States. The airport is perfectly situated for exploring many of the Parks of the southwest; beyond Bryce Canyon National Park itself, Zion, Grand Staircase, Arches, Monument

  9. Hello, in all fairness, Asobo themselves have not "over-hyped" the simulator. That has been very capably done by those outside the development team whose motives were various but all based on invention and supposition, rather than fact. This provided a torrent of free publicity for the product but an equal torrent of unrealistic expectation which has, in some cases, now turned into disappointment.

The state flower is the orange blossom which aptly celebrates this beautiful part of the world. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other, Florida has mile upon mile of white sandy beaches, several thriving metropolises, and a diverse range of culture and ethnicity. Take flight over the cities of Miami, Orlando, Jacksonville, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and beyond. Experience these vibrant cities c

You are a true artist in every sense of the word Cheers Renault I had a dream last night about a wonderful time I had in Southern California But like all good times it came to an end and I had to head on back home As is usual, the coach drops you off at the airport long before you need to be there .... It's pretty early, but no ones about so lets check this place out... It's my dream , so an

  19. The Gateway to the Fjords arrives for Microsoft Flight Simulator! Norwegian developer Finn Hansen brings us his first airport for MSFS with Ålesund Vigra Airport. A delightful airport located along the beautifully rugged west coast of Norway, Ålesund is a major destination for legacy, low-cost and charter carriers flying from across Europe. Building upon the P3D edition released in June, Finn has brought new features to this new release. New PBR textures, sloped runway, custom weather-dependent ground poly and detailed terraforming have been created from scratch. Ultra

Playing around with the drone camera, this lets you go anywhere, lovely piece of software for exploring..........also in the dropdown menu on screen I played with date, time & weather.....the sun rises and sets differently depending on time of year, is lower in the sky to....if you go from rain to sun it takes a short while for the ground to dry, the last shot was achange from rain to clear skies, to me it looks like we had a summer shower.....high quality airports from the likes of Orbx will come into their own in this sim, little hidden gems on some out of the way a

  29. For me I have the luxury of having plenty of time to take with the sim , before the install I made sure I was prepared for the install with the latest WIN10 build 2004 . I had heard of other install issues and I made sure all of these issues were taken care of before I started the install . The install was long ( 6 hours + ) but was flawless . Watching hours of YT videos I slowly gained the knowledge to setup my controls and the graphics settings . One thing I really like about the Sim is every option has a explanation of what it does and it’s effect . The only thing le

  31. Hi guys, But are they? Have a closer look, it's actually a pretty clever "illusion" using 2D textures rotating to the user. I agree though that their overall appearance is much better than the static cruciform trees in P3D and XP. It's early days but we'll see what can be done in terms of improving textures, diversity, and height. We certainly have lots of source data of our own... Cheers, Holger

  34. One thing I have learned over the years with MF9, FSX, P3D, and now MSF is that those of us who jump in at the beginning need to have patience. We as users have to be prepared to evolve alongside the program until we hit that sweet time when the system hits maturity and we all become diehard fans. I say this from the middle of my frustration with constant MFS crashes, confusing interface, and difficulty getting controllers properly set up. By the time we reach SP 2, or whatever it will be called, this iteration is going to be a keeper. In the meantime, baby steps and aargh.

  36. I've been simming since the very beginning ... "Aviator" on the BBC Micro ... then all iterations of MS Flight Sim, plus every other one you can name (on the PC platform). MSFS 2020 gets the Oscar! On my mid-range (old!!) system, MS 2020 outperforms P3Dv5 and XP11.50 - yet the graphics are w-a-y better ... by a *long* way. Not entirely without its niggles, but then no sim ever released was perfect on day one. MSFS 2020 is oozing with potential. IMHO, it's *the* way forward. Here we are at the airport I grew up near (though it was called Yeadon back then):

  37. I'm sorry but you miss the point. I buy scenery addons to add to and improve default scenery. This addon severely degrades existing good models in a 'new generation' of flight sim quality. I never said all other models should be this standard so the 'FPS hit' comment is irrelevant. I'm not requesting '400 other models' be upgraded. London Landmarks for FS 2020 is a good idea and certainly needed, but why didn't Orbx give it some thought and leave the very expertly created existing default structures alone? Regarding 'realistic altitude and distance', if I wa
