  3. Hi all. Many will remember the adventure that was early FSX. It was not until we reached FSX SP2 that we started to love the rascal. I suspect it will be the same with MSFS (as they prefer we call it). I have just installed it on a system upgraded to run it well. Three things immediately are apparent: (1) it is not intuitive. Unlike with P3D and FSX SE, you don't step into the set-up screen and immediately feel at home. It has a learning curve. (2) Likewise with control assignments. Gone is the day of point and click. Assigning joystick and throttle controls is a process. (3) Expect crashes.

  4. Yea but difference is MSFS is out of the box no £££ required, except for the base sim. I would say considering the scope was the whole of the frikkin planet I think the AI is doing a marvelous job of at least giving us something resembling reality outside the 3D cities (which are jaw dropping to be fair). However I do agree its the little details which the AI can't do, which the seasoned eye homes in on. I would say all if Orbx stripped out all the POIs seen in True Earth GB and ported to MSFS it would be the perfect match.....

  5. Since Orbx Malmo hasn't been released for MSFS yet & feeling the need for a flight in an Avro RJ100, I took the P3D v4.5 QW version into Malmo. Dialed up real weather & it gave me fog & rain. Approach was tricky. TTM (P3D v4.5)

  11. I saw a message that said the update for the marketplace version is scheduled for 1st September. If ytou have the city pack available, why not just reinstall it and fly around. the Tower Bridge and the Shard were still quite good models as you fly over the scenery at normal VFR altitude. Then on 1st September you can update and fly over the better models.

  12. Wonderful flight and great shots, John! I have XP11, P3D v4.5 and MSFS installed. I choose P3D when I want to fly with as realistically as possible, particularly with PMDG and A2A aircraft. Not only the flight systems are perfectly modeled, the aircraft behavior and feel is outstanding. I go for XP11 with Orbx TE regions when I am more interested in seeing the beautiful world outside, but also with an excellent level of flight realism (there are some great study level aircraft here). I opt for MSFS (we still don't have many addons) when I want to see beauty everywhere.

  18. For the first time ever I've uninstalled an Orbx product. I hope the KBUR performance issue is actually acknowledged at some point and isn't brushed off. For now I'll just be a bit more careful rushing into my purchases to avoid future issues.

  20. A big hit in Prepar3D and X-Plane, the best representation of Vienna Airport on the market has been rebuilt from the ground up using the new Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK, making use of features like the sim’s native jetway functionality (with custom assets, of course) and support for our incredible animations, which make the scenery feel more like a real place. Feature List: • Accurate and up-to-date recreation of Vienna-Schwechat Airport • Fully optimised for smooth performance • Operable and native Microsoft Flight Simulator jetways • High qualit

  22. Thank you for this simple, straightforward and rational appraisal of your experience with MSFS to date. I am quite happy to wait until the SPs are all in place and the SDKs are finalized before switching to MSFS from my very satisfying and stable installation of FSX (I gave the whole constant fiddle of P3D a miss) - I just hope that it all happens before my cognitive and physical state declines even further! And hopefully Orbx will have re-done PNG, OZ and NZ by then

Artistic license on the part of the livery painter me thinks .. Cheers and very nicely done. All our "zany" ideas are coming together - phew am I relieved !!

  26. Yes, as Derek said, either this or that, not both at the same time. And TE is definitely the way to go. Edit: exept ou like to have seasons. Then you have to buy the region package, because TE is photoreal without sessonal changes.

  29. Guys I can confirm also the frames drop significantly (13 FPS from the 30s), with KBUR. MS2020. It appears to be caused by the static airplanes on the ramp. Somehow, they temporarily disappeared, and my frames went back to normal. As soon as they reappeared, I was back at 13 FPS. I’m flying with a JetLine System i9-9900k, with an NVidia 2080Ti. All drivers are up to date. Normal frames till about a three mile final. Ray

  31. Hi guys, the floating trees are now on our list, we may have an issue in terms of the terraforming as we can't actually tell a tree to be inside the ground, we can only tell trees were we want them to be placed and the simulator does the rest. but we will try and fix this and hopefully have a fix for you guys soon Cheers

  34. Where do I start when using the word, "Patience" as it relates to this great world of flight simulation! We have all passed through the fire of the many changes in Orbx Central and several versions of Prepare and X-Plane and we are still here undamaged! Now we have a brand spanking new, "MSFS2020" and the developers are grinding away so that we can have a new experience. Yes everyone is aware of the "London Firestorm" as seen all over the forum! I am guessing the topic of this post "Patience" does not exist for some, that is ashame. Most all flight simmers know that if you do not have it, (Pat

  35. Hello James, welcome to the Orbx Support forums. I see that you have been a member for one hour. The fourth post, demanding a refund, being six minutes after your first one. Eight minutes later, and 14 minutes since you joined the forums, you are doing your best to blacken the name of a company you have not even engaged in a conversation with. This is not how support forums work.

  36. Thanks for the comments Bernief and ijaz and thanks for the likes and up votes. Good will come out of this new sim one way or another. You are right a new steady platform to build on with a powerful engine is exciting! I have been in the sim working on view setup and other things and pulling my hair out. I think all of us simmers admit we like to get in the sim and set things up right or wrong its all part of it! There are lots of updates to come and I'm guessing when the dust settles it will be worth it for sure. I guess what bothered me today is the lack of compassion and the quick reaction

  38. Do you have any intention to produce the MSFS2020 version RKSI Incheon Airport Scenery? Incheon Airport is one of the most famous airports in the world. I am so regretful that I am excluded from the MSFS handmade airport list, so I ask Orbx, which is reputed to be of good quality.

  41. Being also a member of the so-called 2%, I'm, too, greatly disappointed to have to resign from manual downloads. I name it 'so-called 2%', as I believe that all those using manual downloads and store the files at a private medium (I, e.g., do in double backup on external 6-TB-harddisks) will NOT USE the manual download AGAIN, unless there is a problem with their files, while the so-called 'other 98%' will have to re-download EVERY TIME they change something with their installation. This behaviour - and I'm sure about this! - distortes the relations between manual-downloaders and onli

  42. I have the same problem. With my connection, it is simply impossible for me to download some Orbx products at home (I only have 10Gb / month...) I usually download the files at my office, and then take them home to install them manually in my sim pc. It is already inconvenient to have such a bad connection, but if you remove the option of manual download, your are only worsening our conditions. And we have all pay the same for the products... I have just had a problem with my pc and will have to reinstall every orbx product. I will not be able to do so if there is no manual installation.
