Welcome to the French Alps! We're absolutely thrilled to announce a new airport on short finals from Orbx's in-house partner studio Gaya Simulations, also responsible for EGNX East Midlands Airport and more titles coming soon. Courchevel Altiport is an airport located at an altitude of 2007 metres in the middle of the slopes of the Courchevel ski station. On a larger scale, the airport is located in the middle of Les Trois vallées ski area, which has nearly 600 kilometres of ski slopes in the Savoie region in France. Its runway is 537 metres long and 40 metres wide, its inclination is the steepest of the world (up to 18.66%) for an international airport. It is also the only one to be cleared of snow all year long. An aircraft with a maximum capacity of nearly 50 passengers can land in Courchevel altiport. The parking capacity is 10 planes for 20 helicopters. The term "Altiport" was created specifically for this platform the 31st of January 1961 after the first inaugural flight because it was the first altiport ever built for commercial use. During the winter season, the altiport offers a unique know-how and service for the total management of the aircraft and the transfer of customers and users who land on the structure. It is the only airport platform that allows to enjoy the ski slopes directly after landing. It is also a few minutes from the most prestigious resort hotels. The altiport offers two free major air show in the region, one at the end of July and the other one at the end of March. The meeting is called FLY COURCHEVEL and brings t manufacturers, flight training schools, federations, pilots and above all aviation enthusiasts. This superb recreation of this characterful airport has full PBR support, great lighting effects on the runway and aprons and is optimised for performance. Just did a short sight seeing flight from KSAN, San Diago to KSAS, Salton Sea. Interesting flight going from sea level to 7,500 feet to get over the mountains, then down to 81 feet BELOW sea level. Great scenery from ORBX. There is even a guy walking around in front of the hangar at KSAS. Don't know what's up with all the trailers parked at the end of the taxiway at Runway 9 at KSAN. Senery I have installed that was in use for this flight were ORBX Global Base, Vector, Buildings HD, Trees HD, Open LC North America, Southern California, KSAN Airport, Global Airport Pack, Object Flow. I also have Freemesh World installed.

We are pleased to announce three airports for TrueEarth USA Washington and Oregon are NOW AVAILABLE to purchase! KORS Orcas Island for Washington 7S3 Stark's Twin Oaks Airpark and WA79 Walter Sutton's Airstrip for Oregon Please note that you will require the 1.1.0 version of TrueEarth Washington & Oregon for full compatibility, 7S3 Stark's Twin Oaks Airpark The Bill Womack Classic Finally for X-Plane! Nestled in the rolling farmland of the fertile Willamette Valley near Portland, Oregon, Stark's Twin Oaks Airpark is ideally located for sightseeing in the Pacific Northwest. The rural location makes for less traffic and a relaxed atmosphere, while providing an easy jumping-off point for flights to either the coast to the west, or the rugged peaks of the Cascade range to the east. The scenery includes a large area of 30cm/pixel aerial photoreal terrain, featuring the various orchards, Alpaca ranches and small farms in the area. One special point of interest in the area is the massive Glacier rock quarry, located a few miles to the southeast of the field. Twin Oaks is carved from the side of a gentle slope and, as a result, the Starks' house, garage, and two of the hangars are on a hill overlooking the rest of the field. Lead developer Bill Womack has obsessively researched and photographed the airport over the last few years, with the enthusiastic support of owners Bob and Betty Stark. Several years in the making, we're proud to offer the definitive sim rendition of one of Oregon's aviation jewels. This faithful X-Plane port recreates the iconic airfield with remarkable accuracy and is fully integrated into TrueEarth US Oregon including custom mesh edits to recreate the famous slope between the house and the apron. Ground imagery at 30cm per pixel Little details make it so charming Custom X-Plane mesh Lush rural valley with farms, crops True multiple elevation airfield Made with full support of owners Integrated with TrueEarth US Oregon Made from 1000s of on-site photos Superbly detailed models WA79 Walter Sutton's Private Strip Welcome to the charm of Walter Sutton's private airfield! Located in a sleepy hide-away rural valley in southern Washington state (actually not far north of Portland, OR), this grass strip invites you to land and explore. With a large area of beautiful photoreal coverage, you'll find plenty to see in the circuit and plenty of the 'little details' on the ground which Orbx is famous for. This X-Plane version is fully integrated into TrueEarth US Oregon and features unique new vegetation around both airstrips. Made by the same team who created WA56 Israel's Farm, this airfield offers the same charm, superbly accurate modeling and a level of immersion that you have to experience for yourself. We've also included the general store, the old abandoned rail works and the peculiarly named 'Tum Tum', a unique cone shaped hill almost directly aligned with the runway. WA79 is only a short hop away from Orbx's 7S3 Stark's Twin Oaks Airpark. Also includes a bonus airstrip "Walter Musa's"! 60/15cm per pixel ground imagery Fully modeled farm and airstrip Town buildings and other POIs modelled Large coverage of photoreal area Onsite photos taken by Orbx staff Unique new 3D vegetation Fully compatible with TrueEarth US Oregon KORS Orcas Island Airport This beautifully located airport in the San Juan Islands respectfully pay homage to one of the most memorable airfields ever to grace FS2004. This version faithfully recaptures the spirit and charm of the Orcas Island we all remember and love, but also dials up the details and definition to 11, providing the most spectacular version yet. Discover not only the airport as it appears today, but explore the entire island, with resorts, old watchtowers, animated birdlife and orcas, keen fishermen, boating and much more. This is truly a wondrous island to add to your Orbx collection! The X-Plane version is fully integrated with TrueEarth US Washington and features unique new vegetation and other enhancements. 15/30cm per pixel ground imagery Modeled airport and village Ground poly runway, aprons & lights In spectacular San Juan Islands Large coverage of photoreal area Watermasks for the shores & rivers Onsite photos taken by Orbx staff Many POIs across Orcas Island Integrated into TrueEarth US Washington These superb airfields are now available to purchase from OrbxDirect! Another nice XP freeware - this one the Nord 1011 (tricycle gear version of the Bf108) first XP effort of 'Restauravia' of FSX fame. Dunno - there's just something about a taildragger - why change? This French model has a 'Renault' engine. In the air, very similar to the 'Taifun'. The canopy on the Bf108 had more glass and was a lot sexier. Full flaps and idle brings you down like a rock - judicious use of power allows control of that but keep it pointed downhill.

Congrats to the in-house partner studio team 'Gaya Simulations' for this marvelous modelled small high altitude airport, promising for other locations.

Hi, Mitchell. Thanks for the explanation. I have to admit that the non-alphabetical order puzzled me and caused some concern. I didn't want to install my remaining Orbx airports until this oddity was straightened out. Now that I know this is a standard method of layering for Orbx Central, I will leave it alone and install the rest of the airports. I have flown a couple of flights since first noticing this situation in the scenery library and have seen no problems, so far, anyway. I'm not worried that the entries are not in alphabetical order (the regions are grouped correctly, of course), as long as there aren't any problems, so I'll leave well enough alone. Thanks again for the clarification. On second thought, however, I notice the Tongass Fjords entries are slightly misplaced, so I'll try to correct that, but leave everything else alone. Stew

Hi! You're currently using the standard layering system in Orbx Central which won't layer scenery alphabetically like in FTX Central 3, but instead ensures they're correctly grouped and lets Prepar3D layer them (which is usually the order they're installed in). Your Orbx products should still work okay with this layering. If you wish to have them be alphabetically layered, you can try the new Advanced Layering system available under Settings, Insertion Point.

Yes the buildings do look like how they should be in that part of the world where you were flying. In pictures 1-4 and then 11, the amount of autogens and the regionally (or geographically even) realistic look of the buildings give the whole scenery an extremely accurate and cityscene/cityscape type of vibe, and even though you are taking off and landing at default airports, the buildings enhanced by Buildings HD make it all look better. I've never thought about getting Buildings HD, but after looking at your shots I'm now considering buying it.

Great set, I’d love to see you taxi that bird up the ramp at Pebbly Beach, grab a burger at the Buffalo Nickel Restaurant while your there.

Well done Jack my friend! Nice! PBR is a totally different beast and I like it! Gotta get used to it, but like it! Too bad they're not converting their older airports to PBR. that would be incredible if they would!

Obviously a lot of effort has gone into the detail at Courchevel. I can only lament the absence of seasons/snow in X-Plane, for if there is one location that cries out for snow to lift it from extraordinary to sublime, it's this one. TTM

It would be helpful if this was displayed ie," it would be incompatible with some parts of Australia v2" in the description of AU Holgermesh Australia on Orbx Central, so people are aware of it. I'm in the middle of reinstalling all my purchases after a computer upgrade and remembered reading Nick's comments on the compatibility of the two products, otherwise I guess a lot of people would just assume to install it.

OK here it goes. A elderly couple had their annual medical check up and the Dr. told'em all is good and in regards to memory loss he recommends that they write everything down. Later that night they were watching TV and Earl says to his wife:" I'm going in the kitchen do y'all want something": She says:" Yup I'd like some ice cream and you better write it down. Naw I don't need to write it down. Y'all want ice cream. She says: But I want strawberries on top and you better write it down. Naw he says Y'all want ice cream with strawberries on top. She says yeah but I also want whipping cream on top of my strawberries and ice cream you better write it down. Naw, he says: Y'all want ice cream and strawberries with whipping cream on top, I don't need to write it down, somewhat irritated . Twenty minutes later he comes out of the kitchen and gives his wife a plate of Bacon and Eggs. She looks at her husband then at the plate and says: Where is my Toast?
