  1. To those few who may have missed me, I am happily back, after some challenging events. I was gone from here, since early last summer, I believe. A few years back, I was wounded in action, and suffered some serious injuries as a result. I never disclosed that to anyone on here, except maybe a few of you privately. Well, last summer, I started to experience some serious medical issues related to my wounds. As a result, using a computer (and hence, flight simming) became extremely difficult and sometimes downright uncomfortable. Short story is they found out I was having low grade seizures due to

  2. Another lovely little Orbx field in XP... A great gateway field to start exploring the Southwest, and Salisbury plain in particular. I love to roam the field checking out the details the developer has put in, that really add to the feeling of being there.. The gang are here. He's been waiting hours... His wife went for a flight with a handsome looking pilot..... hmmm. This is a busy place for such a small field. Quite the nature reserve too. Engines on... PBR cranked-up.

  3. The most anticipated X-Plane announcement of 2019 is here! Following on from last week's sneak peek video, here are the details. TrueEarth US Washington (TEUSWA) covers a huge 91,875 square miles (237,956 km²) which is most of the state of Washington, USA and also parts of British Columbia, Canada and Oregon, USA. Please refer to the coverage map below for the specific boundary. The place markers shown are where we have added cityscape 3D models for Seattle/Bellevue, Everett, Victoria, Spokane, Tacoma, Olympia and Yakima. There are many hundreds of POI models als

  9. Rainer Square Tower is under construction and planned for completion next year, so it’s staying. I’ll check why the other tall tower is included and report back. As far as making our cityscape ‘compatible’ with DD Seattle, that’s not going to happen for a number of reasons. Firstly our cityscape is much superior in terms of performance, and secondly our models and surrounding autogen buildings and facades are more efficient and feature PBR texturing with three optional levels of texture detail. We are not going to ‘dumb down’ our downtown Seattle so you can

  16. Home... Devon for me, although we are very close to the Somerset border, so a lot of the places we spend time are there too. Not long after take-off from Dunkeswell, heading north over Culmstock Beacon. Over my house, which is bottom left... Nice to see Orbx has given my studio a nice new blue roof... it could do with it Haddon Hill a few mins from home on Exmoor... a high spot and favorite place for us to go and blow away the cobwebs. Leaving Haddon to head deeper into Exmoor. Over Dunkery Hill, which is the highe

  23. Due to my troubles ocurred during the switch to Win10 I did not fly & post as much as usual during the last two months. But I am getting back, slowly. Today you see me leaving for a short Easter holiaday, picking a safe Boeing at Hanover... ... climbing over the Wesergebirge... ... and reaching FL350 over the Rhein. Northern France is mostly cloudy, ... ... but at least we can spot Biarritz over the south, to the right. Hours later. Leaving the west coast of Africa behind... ... for a short hop over

  30. I haven't checked. The pics I put in my post to you above were taken with xVision in use. They were taken with Renault's Natural Colour xvs. With UWXP you are reloading the sky, cloud and water textures of UWXP included in the programme. With XVision I believe you are loading different bespoke Shaders not textures.

  31. Hi Please run the "Verify Files" option from within FTXC3 for your FTX Global base product, I would also do the same for Trees HD and the Orbx libs. Then, run the "Force Migration" option in FTXC3 settings.

  33. I didn't (mean to) say I only fly over TE scenery because that would be quite limiting indeed (at this moment). As others have posted already AFS2 only uses photoreal scenery, no landclass at all, and the default sim contains a large part of the Western US plus Switzerland and South Florida as payware DLC from IPACS (not Orbx!). Now those default area's and DLC don't even come close to TE Netherlands imho but it's good enough to fly around every now and then. Imho is sure beats flying over landclass. ;) What I did mean to say with "I will fly anywhere Orbx releases TE sceneries fo

  35. Another great aspect of the X-plane version of this scenery is ironically an Airport that ORBX did not do. Airfoil Labs did an amazing rendition of Arlington Regional airport, home of Glasair Aviation and the NW EAA fly-in. I really can't wait to see how it blends in with the greater ORBX TE. I also hope that the many ORBX payware airports for this region get the conversion in quick succession. Hoping for Skagit KBVS, Felts Field KSFF, and Anacortes 74S, Oh who am I kidding I am going to buy them ALL over again ........and another $500 goes to ORBX, You Bastards! LOL I love you guys, t
