  1. Hi, Earlier this year we announced ESSD Dala Airport, a small regional airport in Dalarna, Sweden. Today we are happy to announce that it will be part of an airport bundle and I'm eager to also show you some screenshots of ESNQ Kiruna Airport. Kiruna is a mining town in the far north of Sweden, located beautifuly in the wild landscapes of Lappland. There are daily flights to Stockholm Arlanda and just across the border you'll find Narvik, so you will for sure be able use your Orbx-sceneries to commute. With this package I'm also very proud to announce snow as rar

  7. The local authorities have decided to study the possibility of using a Dash 7 in the challenging airfields along the Kokoda trail. The local Airlines PNG Twin Otter pilots based at the Kokoda airport have been invited on board of the newly arrived aircraft as they might have to do a cross-training later on. Today, the group is heading to Timkenumo, a very short mountain airfield with an impressive slope. The weather forecast indicates the presence of rain for the whole period of the flight. But the visibility is good. It is worth trying out the airfield.

  8. Flying over the Philips Plant in Eindhoven, Holland on December 7th, 1942, one day after it was bombed during Operation OYSTER, the British daylight air attack by Air Marshal Sir Arthur Harris's RAF Bomber Command. The plant was being used by the Nazis. As you can see in the first image, the RAF leveled the plant during the raid, which ORBX has depicted in perfect detail. -Paul

  9. Very nice. Do not forget to put winter clothing on ground staff during winter. Are you going to model mosquitoes for summertime?

  10. I literally thought some of those were real photos. No kidding. FS really needs 3D snow, it makes everything look much nicer. I liked CZST for that reason, it has a good amount of 3D snow. If Orbx were to add this technology to their regions it would be incredible. Maybe even as a separate product to cover the whole continent or country, and I would pay $54.95 AUD for it. It's worth that much (or at least in my mind). Winter in FS needs improved. [emoji846]

  13. It sounded to be an easy task for the engines to fly down from about 9000 ft (Quito) to about 0 ft altitude (Guayaquil). So we got ready for that little commuter flight in a trusty DC-3 in a regional paint... ... but climbing out of the valley already brought the engines to their limits! El Cotopaxi hidden behind the clouds... ... as well as the Chimborazo. Finally a chance to cool the engines while descending to follow Rio Babanhoyo... ... towards Guayaquil. Very uncomfortable how I use

This was a popular location for a lunchtime stroll many years ago when I worked at the Ordnance Survey at Maybush.

  23. @Marcus Nyberg Really can't wait for these to be released! I hope you will pay special attention to night lighting, especially for ESNQ, lot's of night flying will be done there. Judging from your screenshot where the runway lights are visible, they don't look particularly realistic. The light blurb size needs to be a lot smaller in appearance, otherwise it would be quite blinding to land and depart on that runway. I know it's WIP, just saying so it can still be changed while you work on it.

  32. It means "open land class" . Go to the "Global" section on the Orbx Product page and scroll down to any one of the " OpenLC" products. The description is pretty clear. And, at least IMHO, the results are spectacular.

  34. Very nice shots Gerold, it is always surprising how high altitude drains the power of those standard engines! As for Imgur, it was my first experience with it with the Timkenumo post. I had to paste every single shot individually and make a note of what the image contains since Imgur changes the name of the file to something that says absolutely nothing. Then I realized that there was also a possibility of posting the same shot twice. So I selected the preview post in Orbx to check out that everything was fine. I prefer the old way with fsfiles.org, much quickier with less chance of making a m

  45. If I remember well, it is the river Severn or Severn Estuary near Cardiff ? Yeah, lot of British marinas are protected by a lock and they will only be opened during a certain period of time around high tide. Otherwise the marina will dry up. So during the closed period you are trapped within the marina.
