Not a great name for a fighter - they lost a competition with the Fokker DVII but 350 were built anyway.

Did a little bit of FSEconomy flying this afternoon, taking my very own Cirrus SR22 between two of my "owned" FBOs of KGCM and KADH in Oklahoma. A nice, quiet flight with decent enough weather. Enjoy!

Leaving Bakersfield, heading Monterey. Technical probs with the other Cessna, let's take this nice Ebo painted to our destination. No clearance at KMRY (IFR) so landed at Karo.

Hi, after shoveling for hours (yesterday's snowstorm left us with 50 centimeters of snow), it was time to head somewhere with a bit of green... The Flugplatz Bad Ragaz airport in Switzerland (LSZE) has been improved by Orbx, without a fee...It's nice to see the improvments, it makes the place much more interesting. This is a beautiful valley for a glider so here we go...The weather is Orbx 4, and I have Cumulus X and Rex soft clouds installed. CTRL SHFT Y and the towplane appears and start pulling, ready or not... Now free from the towplane, after pressing SHFT Y A nice view of the airport, while I still have enough altitude... Now is the time to test those anti-nausea pills. Having gained enough altitude and speed, I tried a loop and it went well. But then, with the remaining altitude, it was time to head to the airport. Here is the airport. Good crosswind though. I have to adjust the glider's attitude in order to land on the runway and nowhere else. There is a little boy near the fence, possibly dreaming that one day he'll be on the other side taking flying lessons... Overall, a great place for a glider, with mountains, green fields and charming little villages. Cheers!

And man is it good! Was wanting to pick this up since release--and thanks to a coupon and a sale, I got it for a great price! I never would have expected what a little hot rod this thing turned out to be. Very fast and agile. Looks can be deceiving! Highly recommended. For the first test flight, what better place than the picturesque Monterey Peninsula?

Still going from Orbx airport to Orbx airport on my continuing tour. Was up early so I made a nice flight. Orbx Global, Trees, Vector, both full fat regions, everything else off using SCE. Summer, dawn, AS16 on, PTA 20_10 . VAS and frames were amazing. VAS monitor bar never went below 61% used. Flew from KWYS to KJAC, landed approached and landed manually then TNG'd and used approach on my new and wonderful PC-12 from Carenado. It was fun! Isn't this beautiful? First approach then TNG. Now for another flight around the airport. Look at how detailed those mountains are. Amazing. APR mode works flawlessly in this plane. Loving it.

Another day, another classic airliner purchase (Liked Quality Wings BAe-146 so much I bought the 757 too). I love this Northwest "Thermometer" scheme on the 757. Back around 1991, I saved up and bought myself a ticket to fly solo (I was a kid!) from Madison-Minneapolis-Memphis-Knoxville on Northwest to see a friend from 6th grade. I'd never flown alone before and was so excited! A white and red "interim" DC-9-30 to MSP then The 757-200 from MSP-MEM was in this scheme (though a Pratt & Whitney example, not an ex-Republic RR model) and I remember eating tuna on a salad and some pink fluff for desert, and there was this big mural on the rear bulkhead of the old Northwest "red tail" made of carpet. Then at Memphis (an active hub at the time!), we boarded a DC-9-10 (so cute!) but had a gear problem that required a landing back at Memphis (exciting!). We (passengers and crew) exchanged that poor DC-9 (which "had had the same problems earlier that day in Omaha") (!!!!) for a very HOT DC-9-30 and flew to Knoxville. Such a good trip - those were the days when every trip was special as I had flown so seldom (dad was a private pilot but quit when I was 5 or so and other than that and a few Republic DC-9 and Northwest Orient 727 rides I'd hardly flown). And this plane brings it all back. As for the tweaks - I ditched the "Affinity Mask" and increased TextureMaxLoad to 30, Fiber_Frame_Time_Fraction was set to .50 and wow what a difference in frame rates and texture loading time - they're both nearly excellent (just under 30FPS and no blurry textures or black AI ships while things load in "heavy" areas like Anacortes (my nemesis). I'm a "happy camper" tonight! Testing the tweaks and 757 around Bellingham (another rough spot for me at times, especially at 200+ knots - it was a disaster when I first tried the plane hence some lunch hour researched changes to my P3D.cfg). Hi Steve, The Alaska repaint is by 'Jankees' and available at OZx here : http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/file/4200-manfred-jahns-douglas-c-47-v2-alaska-airlines/ It's for V2, so u have to adapt to V3.14 with the [fltsim] entry changes to the 'sim=' and 'model=' lines as I noted above in post #9 . Cheers, Milan..

+1 The dates don't work for me this year but I will try to keep that weekend free next year. I do like the idea of KBDL, even if it is just part of a Global package.

I agree! These are amazing. We're getting closer and closer all the time, it's blurring the line between real and simulated. The first two to me are stunners!

Apologies guys, the FTX Global wasn't the cause of my issues. After finally restoring the OS partition (which took a few attempts) the issue remained for a backup taken prior to installing FTX Global. I have another backup taken before using Central V3 to update all my products, so I will probably go back to that one, which was definitely behaving alright. Then I'll move forward again ensuring the issue doesn't reappear with each upgrade. Regards, Paul

There is now confirmation the the new region to be released shortly (and its airports) will be free. Nice job, Ipacs. Something else to play with while we wait to see what Orbx is up to.

In an AN-2 with the old Alaska Coastal colors (JK). This plane is an electrician's nightmare - toggle switches for everything. Had the FAA not restricted them to 'experimental' type certificates, we could well have seen this a few years ago. Cutting across the north end of Baranof Island - clouds are right there but the viz is good. Tenakee Springs, another great 'hot' springs destination. On the south end of Chichagof Island - lots of fishing and Brown bear. Hawk Inlet, home to the Greens Creek Mine - 8.5 million oz of silver last year with a bonus 60,500 of gold. Over Douglas Island's Outer Point, on a wide right base for runway eight at Juneau. Another 'Walter Mitty' three-pointer - flight sim is good.

Took your advice as the build hadnt started yet and went the 1TB version instead of the 2TB one. I wonder what it would take to have an option for PNW to have the top intact. It guess would be a tougher task to also have to backdate the acreage around the mountain along with spirit lake.

Nice flight. Global, USMV, KSEZ, AS16, Adam's PTA 20_10 What a spectacular view! I love it here. And a HUGE thank you to whoever created the free Scenery Config Editor for FSX & P3D! It is now saving me so much VAS. I never went below 50% in the VAS monitor. Amazing!

I further couldn't disagree more....Orbx developers make some of the best airport available. Do I need to even mention the clamour that rises every time a Jarrad Marshal airport gets near release? The magic that is an Orbx airport is irreplaceable, so I hope that they continue to develop both scenery packages and airports.

Can't quite get my head around some of the comments here. Oz is the staple of my sim world and as such I fly it every day and night. I haven't seen any of the anomalies that macca has. All of the major Cities have adequate airport scenery available, and it all works well with ORBX. The exception is Adelaide and Perth, but there is a payware Adelaide out there that works in P3D V3.4, even tho it has issues and a basic version of YPPH at Ozx. I'm not saying the continent is perfect, but I'm content to fly what we have and see what the future brings. If you wanna take a look at the thread I have going currently, I posted a two minute video of an arrival into R12 at Alice Springs that I flew today....can't see it getting much better than that.
