  2. This flight from Tonga to Pago Pago took 2 days and 1 1/2 tries! 1. It started off well from Fua'amotu 2. Even had time to admire the beautiful scenery on the way to FL320. 3. You don't see snow covered mountains often in this part of the world. 4. Then the trouble started. The clouds gave way to beautiful clear skies. Approaching NSTU later in the flight the ILS did not work and made a hair raising landing. 5. Luckily for me I had saved the flight at the point of descent so today I was able to try again. 6. All went well today although I only

  3. How many Orbx airports have you landed at, or been to, in real life? I've landed or performed touch-and-goes at eleven: 0S9 Jefferson County, 1S2 Darrington, 3W5 Concrete, 11S Sekiu, 74S Anacortes, KBVS Skagit Regional, KFHR Friday Harbor, KHQM Bowerman, KORS Orcas Island, KPSP Palm Springs, W28 Sequim Valley, I've flown over six at 2,500 AGL or lower: 1WA6 Fall City, 2W3 Swanson, 2WA1 Diamond Point, S43 Harvey Field *, W16 Monroe *, WA56 Israel's Farm * also visited these airports on the ground. (I won't count several more overflown above 10,000.)

  5. The divisor between thousands of bytes isn't 1,000 but 1,024 (i.e. 2^10). So it's 486,247,866,368 : 1024 : 1024 : 1024 = 452.85... P.S.: there ain't no stupid questions, only stupid answers

  6. Since installing Friday Harbor, FSX is crashing with the infamous out of memory error. Even at texture setting 1024 and a whole bunch of other things removed in the configurator, like people flow, clutter, boat docks..... Removing Friday Harbor from the scenery library fixes the problem. Seems a bit buggy for a scenery install compared to your other products. Yes, I installed the latest library files. And using the default FSX Trike Ultralight aircraft for these tests oh well - d

  7. Shore birds inhabit the shallow waters near the shores of rivers, lakes, bays, and oceans. The American Avocet The Black-necked Stilt The Greater Yellowleg The Long-billed Dowager The Snowy Plover. This is the smallest of the shore birds abut the size of a sparrow. It also has one of the the longest migration routes of any migratory bird wintering in Argentina and moving to Northern Canada to breed. The refuge is a rest and refueling stop for them. The West

  19. Nice idea of thread ! Very few on my side (I'm french). But surprisingly, I just came back from a small plane trip partly setup to go in real in Orbx scenery that I've practised in front my Flight Simulator. Palm Springs, KPSP. Outstanding scenery by Jarrad Marshall. Despite I'm still sad not having Atlantic FBO building : http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/87267-atlantic-aviation-at-kpsp/?do=findComment&comment=797067 Monterey Regional Airport, KMRY Here we go again with awesome scenery by Jarrad Marshall. 21. I will usually just fly anywhere at any time. You make the rules in this world. You fly what you want when you want. I have a few favourite starting points. SAK it is Birchwood, PNW Cape Blanco, Wales Welshpool and England Compton Abbas. Every one to their own, I have just flown a German registered Islander in Tonga. Why? Because I can! Cannot fly from Shepparton YSHT at the moment as there is a lot of thunder and rain about

  24. The versatile F-18 is a deadly and speedy bird and can operate over the intire globe via the aircraft carriers but is of coarse also stationned on land. The hereby posted model shows a fully armed while on patrol flight over Death Valley. Remark the 3 gun-exhaust on the nose, 4 clusterbombs under the wings and 2 sidewinder AA-missiles on the wingtips. The shown model is payware from CaptainSim(includes the F117 in the package)..

  25. Orbx will be looking at expansion plans in 2016 which may allow some more focus on Australian projects.

  26. Speaking from a developer's point of view, these polls and requests for more Australian airports do not add much encouragement. Each time it comes up folks talk like there is an enormous untapped market for Australian airports that would purchase en masse if we simply made another. The thing is, we are not operating on ignorance, there is 8 years worth of sales data indicating which types and locations of airports are most favored. Those are not binding elements but they certainly do play a role in choosing a project. Running forum polls does not provide much new informatio

  30. Limberlost is by far my favorit field of those three. Actually my most used OrbX product is the Kokoda package of Tim and Ken. Ofc I do realize that fields capable of handling Q400 are better sales, and that my preference of small GA planes is rather niche. That's why I really do appreciate such gems as your and Misha's (MCA) triples, Kokoda and all stuff by RTMM and OzX.

  31. Personally I think that what Limberlost lacks in size, it more than makes up for in fun. That's why it was chosen there's a lot of value there. Me and Greg always favour doing multiple airports, but most of the time the decision making isn't as straight forward as it appears at first. We've definitely been looking in to your suggestion for a while, along with other ideas, so you never know

  32. Hello, Sorry for flogging a dead horse, but I have mentioned before about Kickstarter. I can't remember the negative reasons for not using it. Maybe it takes to much effort to set up, I don't know. So if its finance, surely a Developer could set up a campaign for a Australian Airport with a dollar figure to cover the design. If its funded - great. Give the backers some reward. Run a poll first for possible locations. I don't know really how hard it would be and I really should quit mentioning it, but it could also work... Allan

  33. I have a pretty robust Orbx AU with all the Ozx stuff. It stands pretty good as it is. However, there is a business model component I think Orbx is missing. Anyone want to calculate how long it would take Orbx to cover the world in "fat" regions and custom airports. For instance I would love a bunch of South America and lower half of Africa. P3D will be a thing of the past by that time, something better will have arrived. I wonder on "completed" areas such as NZ and AU...if Orbx might consider a business model whereby they "sell" a right to use its technologies and

  34. Hi Guys. Thanks for that, but earlier tonight I saw the exact same thing, not on Steam but some where I googled. So that works ok deleting folders and stuff. Iflygary yes I know about Junction link magic even use it to link my Orbx files to another drive. I just don't want my C drive to get to much on, so thank you all for your help. Derek. Have a good year all of you.

  37. I don't do VAS(I've not suffered an OOM) or framerates but I do recognise blurries and stutters when they occur and KFHR is awash with them. Loading Friday Harbour also takes way longer than any Orbx airport I have! Something is definitely amiss. I can't remember the last time I turned stuff off, but I've pared FH down to the bone.

  38. Name one FS publisher who has committed to creating V3 installers for 115 products in a short space of time at no cost to customers and we'll cop criticism on the chin. However as it stands we are (again) devoting enormous time and resources to doing this for free so please do take advantage of the sale and you'll be rewarded. As I said earlier the V3 installers will come in quicker succession this time around because there is minimal work to do other than an installer recompile. The hard work has already been done in the V2 ports, which we did 109 of, not a bad effort
