  5. Alaska Airways service from Skagway to Juneau (with mediocre ATC support...) Stunning views for the cockpit crew. But they should already be used to it (I was not, just being the trainee on this flight...).

  7. The PA-31 Navajo is a thing of beauty. So I had to choose an appropriate area to fly in. Well, I think, this is a match here. Taking off at Squamish. Turning back for Mt. Garibaldi... Unfortunately, Mt. Garibaldi and its brothers decided to hide in clouds. Lucky moment, after all: Heading back, reaching CYSE again... Above the Salmon Inlet: Ready for the turn into the Sechelt Inlet... ...and after few more turns, with three greens over Gibsons, I am on final into Sechelt-Gibsons.

  8. Greetings I am still a FSXA DX9 hold out tried Steve's fix and was somewhat not impressed as for P3D published versions this offering is evolving into a great platform but for now I have the following comments. In my opinion only The meat and potatoes as in the ambient environment is spectacular as well as the autogen scenery but the embellished add-on's as in scenery look cut n paste with no real depth almost to a collage effect. This is not to say that Martin will not improve as it seems they are very aggressive in there upgrades ( one good reason I am holding out for now).

  9. Just saw the last of the Triple installers for NA showing up. Though they were not V3 ready, I am greatly appreciative for NOT having to pay an upgrade and to have them on a hard drive. And, for this I am very happy and I know most of your followers are also. It is a big, big world and glad to see the LC packages coming to fruition. As an old fan of GEX and FEX, I have put off buying their upgrades for the anticipation of a pure Orbx world of flying. With all the eye candy in Europe, Oceania, and NA, I have enough to keep me busy. Keeping a copy of both FSX and P3Dv3 on separate dr

  11. Jefferson County International is one of those airports I brought a long time ago and I don't think I used. So the name International Airport conjures up at least 737s and maybe something bigger. Never mind they tell me the burgers are better at the Spruce Goose Café! 1. 2. 3. Great to see this airport with a triple installer. Many thanks.

  14. Yes, good luck! For me, the combination of FSX, DX10, and the Fixer is a great combination, I very rarely get any OOMs, and even then I get advance warning from FSUIPC, so I can save the flight beforehand. Since I tweaked the hell out of FSX, my frame rates are quite okay, too. One day I will switch to P3D, but at this point it still don't have that many new features to justify its hefty price tag for me.

  19. There are a few addons airports that I have been waiting on to get the P3Dv2 bump. Two of them just got released at the same time. KBVS and 0S9 are those two. There is just something about those fields that I really like. As someone who owns a high amount of the FTX products, all have a special feel but I do have my favorites and those two are on that list so thank you for this!

  20. I am old plain vanilla FSX user and have no OOMs problems. But then I don't fly complicated airliners into KSEA or KSFO or KLAX. I fly mostly bush and rural stuff in a GA aircraft that's very uncomplicated. I see no reason to change anything at this point in time. What I have is working, I'm satisfied with it, and I see no reason to change. Noel

  21. I think it is wise to have a both FSX Steam and P3D 3.0. What add-on doesn't work in one will work in the other usually, and many add-ons work in both at no extra cost. A tweaked DX10 FSX SE looks nearly as good as P3D. And if either developer quits you still have the other. C.

  25. Hi there, I found this excellent freeware yesterday http://www.classicwings.net/#!aircraft--i-/jnt9f It is certified FSX and P3D. However, it does not load in my FSX. Error: unable to load the model. It flies like a charm in P3D V3. The VC is really very nice and the sound is good too. Reminds me the one I flew a few years back in MS Flight (R.I.P.). Really worth a try for that price.

  28. The short answer is, it depends. I have a ten year old AMD system. I can easily get surges over 100 fps, but for smooth operation I limit it to 30 fps when crusing. On approaches with the sliders generally around the middle except for traffic sliders it gets down in the teens but remains very smooth. I have concentrated a lot on smooth operation rather than frame rates, which if you look at just frame rates its mostly for bragging rights. Guys with hot I 7's can brag until Intel turns it up to I 11, then those guys will have to tell everybody there are not interested in frame rates becaus

  35. I agree with all the others on the 970 (obviously, because I own one). And I think Nick is right, upgrading the RAM probably isn't going to make much, if any, difference. Doug

  36. Agreed...my GTX 970 4gb strix with a slight overclock has the same grunt as a GTX 980 ...and for FSX the GTX 970 is all you are going to need...put the rest towards other hardware mate...

  37. Hi James, I upgraded from a 780Ti to a 980Ti, approx. two month ago. Referring to p3Dv2.5; yes; there was a certain performance gain, but honestly, it was not really much. I would say, if the money for a 980Ti is no issue, then do it, but if the money IS an issue, then don’t do it.

  38. I fully understand this, Ben. In other words we are faced to re-install our ORBX products every update iteration LM does? In my eyes, this "recommendation" (I think it's part of the SDK but there's certainly no law to enforce it) is one of the most clever ideas of P3D3. It tries to manage the balancing act between users hating to re-install every 3 months and makers having to place their products somewhere. Personally I would like to see it respected by ORBX (and other makers). Kind regards, Michael
