  3. A while back I flew the Brain & Brown C-47 from Brisbane to Caloundra. Now I got a phone call - could I take the gooney bird to Bundaberg? There were a few crates of rum waiting at the airport... Making a low fly-by over the rum distillery Cheers Mallard (bleedIN hEcK! Why can't one edit the titles. Should of course read rum run...)

  5. I'm happy to let you know that CYSE Squamish, BC is ready for beta with some important updates. Squamish will be fully P3Dv2.2.1 compatible with full ObjectFlow functionality. Designed to take advantage of the wide range of Prepar3Dv2 features including cloud shadows, Squamish is a highly immersive and comprehensive enviroment. CYSE is intended to be state-of-the-art sim. If you followed the previous preview thread you have already seen quite a few shots of the airport, college and general locaiton. I've included some new material below to show you the level of detail you can expect to

  6. Here is one more batch of real life vs Orbx comparisons. I have the Israel's Farm and W16 airports scenery which are noticeably more detailed. Lake Cushman, Mt Baker, and Saul Lake are stock PNW, yet still look pretty darn good. 16. All of these shots are DX11 in a variety of setups. Shot #2 for instance is generic P3Dv2.2 "fair weather" with modified cloud height. Use that as a barometer of "stock' performance in V2. I'll post up some DX10 comparison screens from FSX. I strongly suggest using the DX10 fixer for FSX, the performance benefits are like night and day. Check your card for compatibility. Helo pad: I left it small for the sightseeing operation that once occupied this particular space. Other pads around Squamish can handle the larger aircraft. I'll look forward to some "Elvis" shots from the helo guys.

  19. Born in Frankfurt, then dragged by my parents to the US (Charlotte, NC), Ghana (Accra), Indonesia (Bandung) and back to Germany (just outside of Frankfurt). I'm now living in Freiburg (since 1993), right down in the southwestern most part of Germany, 20 minutes drive from the French boder and about 45 minutes away from Switzerland. We have an interesting GA field here - and a Warbird nest at Bremgarten (check them out at www.meiermotors.com) which provides for a great variety in planes that I can see here in the skies. 21. Also can I add a few comments ... Firstly, an admission: Squamish BC is my all-time FAVOURITE place on the whole planet in the sim, bar none. The sheer walls of the surrounding peaks, the town, docks, airport, golf course, university - they all mesmerised me back in FS9 and became more immersive in FSX. It was only when Gordon released Tipella that I grabbed him as my "muse"; here was a developer (also an 'artist') who understood the subtleties of how to capture an environment and create almost a "sim within a sim". The stars then aligned when Holger sourced some great imagery (not ch

  25. I am trying to understand why, every time JV or someone makes an announcement or a statement that something is being worked on, there follows post after post after post of "thank You John" - etc. Makes it extremely difficult to keep scrolling through to find something of value in the thread. I am NOT saying that I am not appreciative of the work being done by the team but I send my attaboys in the form of orders. I don't have an answer to my complaint, I guess just a question - when *you* see that there are a few "thank you" posts in a thread, why not just let it be at that? I know we
