And you are saying that - regarding performance - as you do not have the latest i7 - GeForce 480 etc-etc yourself, which is very reassuring for those of us who just cannot afford to upgrade to the latest kit, no matter how much we would like too.  Fortunately for me and a 'few others', it seems you developers are constantly finding ways of optimizing this stuff to run better and better, allowing us to enjoy the progress without feeling totally left out in the cold.

Well done, this looks amazing  8) ... keep up the good work.

Thank so much for your comments!!!  ;) The shots above well dispay this kind of scenery. Maybe someone could think that a scenery like this needs a super machine to be run smootly.... It's not so. Photoreal sceneries take the best performances from your machines, also with the autogen slider to the max. This is possible because autogen is well optimized, also taking advantage from the shadows of the image. For this, also annotating each tree, you will have anyway less trees than a normal scenery. This gives a bonus to the performances. I really thank you for your appreciation!!!  ::)
Mark.

I really thank you for your appreciation!!!  ::)

And we thank you (in advance) for your efforts! Man, the idea of having to work yet another full year on something like this is.... is... well, heroic...! I can't imagine this labor (of love, I hope) would become a hobby of mine... ;) If there was a worship smiley on this forum I would use it a few times right now. ;D

EDIT
Ah, here you go (thanks to Google and some Indycarz-forum ;D ):

P.S. Maybe Orbx could add this (or a similar) smiley to this forum because I think we really need it here: it wouldn't surprise me if it would become the most used smiley over here... (Orbx making praise worthy products and customers making praise worthy screenies, etc. etc. you know what I mean!?!)!

Wow they look amazing :o.
Fantastic work all round Maurizio.
I am just puzzled by the choice of Canberra for such a massive undertaking.
Don't get me wrong I am not knocking it, but the market for this product is surely limited, as compared to a more well know OZ city

Not that I am not going to buy it when it comes out. 8)

Just fantastic work guys! I am amazed to see what developers can do with zeros and ones  ;D

@ J Van E, maybe they don't have it because it can hurt some peoples eyes to see that. Too sad people are rather worshiping the object in stead of the Creator of the "objects". I can commend someone that does a very good job like I do to the ORBX group of developers but I only worship the Creator of the real scenery and of the people (minds included) that can recreate these things in a computer. Do we worship the Creator? Or are we going to believe it all came from mere chance?
If recreating a real thing is a tough job and therefore needs a developer/developers, how much more does the "real deal" need a Designer, a Creator... Just something to think about.

Congratulations to the ORBX team!!!  ;D

Happy flying!

I believed the Orbx rendition of Canberra was spectacular enough, this new package has tremendous detail and worth any price on application..
Well done to the team.

Impressive! Will it have the AIS?

The AIS is in the coverage area so if we can get ground level photos we'll model it, yes. Either way, the buildings will be represented in the sim in some fashion.

Looks amazing - did my first ever (and scariest) flight into a 'big jet' airport at YSCB coming from YSCN - now I can re-live trying to find that visual reporting point as often as I like...  At least the runway is long enough to forgive the fact I was waaay too high on final....  :-[ :-[

Maurizio, we knew ourselves on another "blog di fsx" ;)

Your last productions were amazing ! Does Antonio C. have an active part in it ?

This one will be exceptionnal !

John : you said you will release AU YSCB first before the town AU Canberra...

Could we imagine that when Canberra will arrive in 2011, we should be able to have the 2 sceneries in one pack (promotional price for example) or like 3W5 + WA56 (one bought - the other offered for a short laps of time) ?

My God ! When i have a look to the roadmap, my moneybag is going to be mad : Cairns, Alice Springs, NZ, Canberra...

Now i'm sure of it : you (ORBX TEAM + Out helper Teams) got the God eye and touch !  ;)

Wonderfull pictures...

I'm sure of another thing : i have to win at the bingo !!!  ;D

And for now, waiting will become the Hell... ;)

After seeing these screens!!! and the level of detail, and of course the amount of work involved, I'd gladly pay for the both of them! ;D Ever since I have been flying with the FTX scenery, I have become an ORBX junkie! Finaly got out of the pit of the tubeliners to enjoy the low and slow that the roots of aviation evolved from!! :) Any chance PNW or any of the NA series will see this kind of treatment?

Hey boys,

I've never said i won't pay for it  ;)

Just said it will be hard for my money bag  ;D

And as Ricy76 said : i'm a junkie too !!!! ;)

That's normal that you ORBX Team and people who work for you should be paid, and the quality of your sceneries are for me a great breath...   8)

You want to see my face...
You want to know my name...
I'm the Devil !

As others have said well done, looks very impresive.

I've been living in Canberra for the last 10 years and have flown over all of it, my first impressions of the screen shots is amazment, at last I can jump in something slow and cruze around the town without ATC.

Your comment regards the AIS is informative, this account for the omission of the ASIO etc buildings?

At the moment Canberra is experiacing a rather large building boom, both road improvements and residental apprtment/commercial high rises so I guess a V1.1 may need to be in the pipline.

The business park.......err Airport looks great.

Guys my wallet is yours for the takeing!

Now this is what I call 3D photoreal... all the way down to touchdown... I remember posting something about the bar being raised into orbit... guys, you are leaving the solar system with this...

Simply amazing... no other words...

I cannot wait to build a new i7 system in the near future... ORBX and nothing else in scenery!
